I just saw on Pardon The Interruption that the Boston Celtics have offered Coppenrath a contract. Has anyone heard about this?

It would be great if we could sign Coppenrath. He was another great player that I thought was done wrong on draft night. He would be a great asset off the bench and would possibly be an All-Star in the future. He sort of reminds me of Larry Bird. [IMG]

Yeah, not an actual contract, just an invitation to the summer league team. I would imagine that since rosters expanded to 14 this year, he would have a pretty good chance to make it to training camp.

Hardly Larry Bird, if any undrafted reminds me of Bird it's clearly Walsh. Coppenrath to me is more of an undersized big man than an oversized small forward, personally I think he can be an alright role player in the NBA but won't really be that great (a la: Luke Walton). Give him a shot, what's the worst that can happen?

Of course no player is ever going to be a great and talentd as Larry Bird. I was just saying his style of play sort of reminds me of Bird. I'm glad they're giving Coppenrath a shot. He was a great college player.
