Terrell Owens & Master P in the Summer League? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Philadelphia Eagles receiver Terrell Owens won't play for Sacramento's summer-league team next week unless the NFL club approves, the Kings said Friday. Owens, the talkative All-Pro who's embroiled in a contract dispute with the Eagles, had recent discussions with the Kings about another foray into basketball, his favorite sport. But Kings spokesman Darrin May said the franchise wouldn't add Owens to its roster for the Las Vegas summer league unless the Eagles give their consent -- something they're highly unlikely to do, given Owens' value and contract status. The Kings' first game is July 10. While Owens probably won't be in Las Vegas, rapper Master P -- otherwise known as Percy Miller -- will be on the Kings' summer roster, May said. </div> Source I've actually played with him on the court, and Owens is not a bad basketball player. He threw down some hard dunks and has a pretty good jumpshot. He cannot shoot off the dribble though and struggles going left. I doubt Owens plays, and I hope Master P gets posterized all summer long.
wow i want master p to make it and play one game and then get waived just like what happend to don cherry of the nhl some tiem back came and played one game and then sent back to the triple a legue!!!
The Maloof brothers are making a joke out of the NBA summer league program. They are giving invitation to people who they know have no shot at making the team, and even if they have the talent like in Terrell Owens case they are under contract or other obligations. There are many talented players who deserve to be invited to these leagues to try and make a roster, and work hard for it. Then they give spots to celebrities just to get some people in and make some extra cash.
Master P can actually ball. I remember in 1999 the Toronto Raptors played the Vancouver Grizzlies in my hometown and Master P was playing for the Raptors. I didn't really know who he was back then but he played very well during his short time on the floor and scored 6 points on 3-4 shooting. He isn't as big a joke as some people might think.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">The Eagles said he cant play for the Kings. I think it is his choice if he can play for them or not.</div> No, not really. He signed a big contract and they do not want him to get a bad injury like Bret(I think that's him) Boone did while playing basketball in the offseason. He was injured for the whole year... If he signs a contract with the Eagles he has to follow the rules.
Well, still, it's the franchise's decision. Terrell will sign with them and they wouldn't want him to get a serious injury. I personally would love to see him play basketball, but it's the Eagles choice and they should say no...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SacTownKingsFan0:</div><div class="quote_post">He didnt sign one yet, did he. He is still lookin to get more money, right?</div> Terrell Owens is under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles for the next five season?s weather he wants to be or not. There for weather he plans on holding out or not his rights belong to the Eagles if he gets injured while playing for the summer league the Eagles franchise will not have the option to trade him, and he would lose his value to the organization.
Well, Master P was bragging to SOHH <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We won the USA-ABA national championship this year. I played with Utah [Snowbears]. We ended up playing the Long Beach players in the championship. They should have never traded me."</div> in this interview: http://www.sohh.com/thecore/read.php?contentID=7266 Dude tries so hard ot make money, he's set but he still has to "hustle". I hope Master P gets postered too. and I don't think the Kings are mking that big of a mockery of the soummer league. I mean, they have to see some talent in these players. I mean summer league is also supposed to help their real players(when it wont hur them) so why hurt their development?
The Kings can afford a few "celebrities" involved with their summer league. Their roster is basically set for next season already and grabbing headlines is never a bad thing for a franchise to pull off, especially since this league will be in Las Vegas. The Kings have done this before, they once brought in Chris Webber's younger brother to try out, even though he wasn't considered a draft pick. Then they brought in a Japanese player, (forget his name) because the team had an exhibition game in Japan.

They really have nothing to lose.

Owens is an idiot, he tries to sway people over by crying and saying he is the one at fault for not getting a new contract. He holds out than he does this. First off he isn't getting a new contract, and if he gets injured playing with the Kings, he has no chance what so ever. this reminds me of what a little kid would do.
I'd say he can do what he wants, thats his personality. he'll have some fun playing ball in Vegas, and Vagas is cool to chill in. Its not his fault the team invests so much in him. He should be able to do whatever.
Yes it is his fault. Do whatever? Like Kellen Winslow Jr.? Not his fault they invest so much in him? It is his fault, he signed the contract and they pay him
