<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">What makes you think Maxiell isn't a hard worker? He will do anything on the court to help his team.</div>

I didn't say that he's not a hard worker. I'm just sayin that I think Wilkinson works harder. Maxiel is a tough guy and he is a hard worker, but Wilkinson is more. Plus, Wilkinson has a lot better shooting range and passes a lot better too. He is a better player than Maxiel. No diss on Maxiel, Wilkinson is just better than he is.

Kennedy Winston & John Gilchrist not being drafted both shocked me. I'd add Will Conroy and Asquared to my list of snubs along with Anthony Roberson and Eddie Basden.

I'm going to go with Alan Anderson or Juwad Williams. Those two players are very underated and should get a chance to play in the league. Williams started over Marvin this year and Anderson was great all four years at Michigan St.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned the best defender in college basketball this previous year? I hate to sound like a biased fan but Jackie Manuel should have been a mid second round pick. He's 6'5 so he can play the 2 which he's played in the past. Don't worry about his lack of scoring ability, let's focus on his defensive prowess. I don't think UNC would have won the NCAA's without him. He was their only stellar defender and when they needed a big stop he was there. He reminds me kind of like a smaller Tayshaun Prince without his amazing three point shooting ability.

A smaller Tayshaun Prince? That's an understatement. Tayshaun Prince is freakishly long and lengthy. As for that best defender comment, you and I know that's complete bullsh*t. If you honestly think that Jackie Manuel is a better defender than Danny Granger and Mardy Collins, then you have no place posting in this forum.

As Cincy was my hometown (way back when) I watched a lot of Bearcats games and it actually came as quite a surprise to find that Maxiel was not 6-8 or 6-9. Even thinking he's 6-8,my sense was he played bigger. I don't know Wilkinson. I did see quite a bit of Maxiel and he is what Detroit is picking him to be, a real tough, hustle guy who makes the play on D

Randolph Morris not being drafted surprised me. He got some truly bad advice from someone. If he waited a year or two he could have been drafted in the first round maybe even lottery pick. However, I believe tyhat he should have been drafted as a legit 6-10, 6-11 center who could be worked on. Ive seen Morris play with and against Josh Smith and Dwight Howard. He held his own against those two. I heard he may go back to school since he did not sign with an agt and he repays travel expenses. He was not drafted so no one can retain his rights for one year. I wont be surprised if he goes back to Kentucky.

Usually you and me see eye to eye, however you are way out of bounds here. I will not compare him to Tayshaun, however I will not say it's complete BS. And it is in noway such a ludrcris statment to say he shouldn't be posting for thinking that. Granger is an excellent defender, yes, probably the best in college OVERALL. Mardy Collins in an amazing off ball defender, which is where 75% of his steals come from. However, when it comes to on-ball defense, strictly, no one in college basketball is better, than Manuel. Now I know as a Michigan St. fan it's gonna sting to aknowledge a Tarheel, however, as a basketball purest, you can not downplay his defensive prowess, nor his importance to their run to the title. Manuel guarded every teams best offensive player from the 1-4. He guards everything but centers, and in a conference with superior talent to the Atlantic 10 and the WAC. Once again, I give Collins and Granger all the respect, and I'm not saying Jackie is the "best defender" but in no way shape or form can you down play his ability.

Juan Mendez racked up great stats at Niagra-a team that plays a light sced, but in the few games where they faces a big time team,he produced just as well. Considering he had a 20/10 year, you need to see how much of that carries over. michael Harris of Rice is another guy who put up great numbers. He's likely a somewhat undersize F,but was a beast on the boards. Dwayne jones should have been picked-likely returns to St Joes now. Basden is a D specialist, and in rd2 getting a guy who excells at something-is a plus

You're right. I was way too hard on Manuel; probably just to give SL14 a hard time for playing up one of his TarHeels, but I still can't see him as <u>the best</u> defender (in general terms, not just on-ball D) in college basketball. The main thing that got me about his post was the Prince statement. After that, the rest of my reply on Manuel was just a bit of an afterthought.
