Jones has surprisingly opted otu of his contracted with The Heat.

Yes we have alot of guards, but if we acquired him, we could afford to trade Sura. Better yet, James could be traded. We would have alot of trade bait that will not be a loss to us.

I would LUV Damon Jones on the Rockets. The only problem is we for some reason drafted a Pg. If we had drafted a bigman, we could afford to go after Damon Jones. But now, with Sura, James, Head, and Ward, we are stocked with a old, slow, collection of guards that will be hard to move.

I think if we get Wesley out of here, and assuming Barry doesnt come back, I would love to see Jones here...that would give us James/Sura/Jones and Head and the guard spots...

Jones is a great three-point shooter, but not really much else. He needs someone else to create for his open threes and isn't a good defender. Point guard, with the addition of Head, shouldn't be the position we look actively to fill on the free agent market.

What about Derek Fisher? DFish is known to be a better clutch-time performer. You got your Kobe Bryant in T-mac and your Shaq in Yao, all you need now is a Robert Horry and a Rick Fox. [IMG]

Sorry, I'm just thinking of which teams would want Dfish at 6-7 mil a year for the next 6 years.

Give us Fisher, Richardson and Davis for Weatherspoon, Norris and Baker and you have a deal. [IMG]

    HAHAHA good one.

I'd expect the Warriors to add Yao Ming to the mix. Wishful thinking will get them nowhere haha.

Not even sure the Warriors would need Yao, except for marketing purposes and to guarantee sold out games if Baron isn't doing the trick. Actually, Baron is doing the trick so we could pass on Yao's softness, lack of conditioning and questionable D for a more consistent center that can be tougher and more affordable.

Maybe Spoon for Fisher if that works. Then just toss Wesley in favor of Mike James. I just don't think the Houston Rockets would do it unless they think Fisher is the type to make a difference in the playoffs and they're prepared to deal with him until 2010-2011. Probably not.

I won't get defensive about your comments on Yao. In fact, I agree that he is too soft and hasn't lived up to expectation. His condidtioning is a different story because he plays a year round schedule that EVERY single other NBA player does not. So I think that proves that his conditioning is exceptional.

I mentioned Yao simply because of the rumours of him going to the Warriors. Whether or not you are a Warrior fan, you cannot deny that the franchise has interest in him.

I was reading Yao's book last week and he said that the Warriors would have leaned towards taking Jay Williams in the draft if they had the first round pick. It's pretty ironic to think that Golden State is one of the teams that are strongly rumored to be after Yao.

You won't get him though, so you'd have to settle with mini-Yao, Clarence Weatherspoon. [IMG]

Fisher is a good player and one I think we could be tempted to take but his contract throws off a lot of people. What were the Warriors thinking when they signed him?
