Great points King James X3, I agree Redd is not worth a max deal, and I think the Bucks were stupid to make him such a quick offer. Redd is restricted they could have just waited for the highest bidder and then matched the contract. The highest bidder was Cleveland and the Bucks could have saved 20Million if they just matched instead of offering more. I also think Redd's numbers will actually decrease if he joined the Cavs. He's a nice young player and can score, but his production doesn't justify a max deal. A max deal should be reserved for players capable of carrying a franchise. When I think of Michael Redd, I think of a solid 2nd option, not a franchise player. The Cavs already made their bench weaker losing Tractor Traylor and Lucious Harris. Plus they need to figure out if they want to bring back Ilgauskas, Diop and Wagner. I think it's mandatory for the Cavs to sign Big Z, if not to bring him back at least pull off a sign and trade. Big Z can still play and a lot of teams would be willing to give 2 or 3 players in return. I like the suggestion of Radman on the team, he's inline for a breakout season and he'd thrive in Cleveland. Kyle Korver will likely be retained by the 76ers. The Cavs need to surround LeBron with better defensive players this off-season. The team lost a lot of close games because of defensive let downs and not being able to make stops late in games. Re-sign Big Z, add Radman, add Swift, add Devin Brown, add Michael Ruffin PG - Devin Brown / Eric Snow SG - LeBron James / Luke Jackson / SF - Vladimir Radmonivich / Ira Newble / Pavlovic PF - Drew Gooden / Anderson Varejao / Michael Ruffin C - Big Z / Stromile Swift / Diop / Andriuskevicius
Ok here's how I see it reallistically happening. The Cavs sign Antonio Daniels to play the PG position. Bringing in a solid all-around player coming off of a career year. Signing Larry Hughes who is supposed to be the Cavs 3rd Option & once again coming off of a career year. Re-Sign Z to play Center for 4 more years. Sign a backup Center like Steven Hunter or re-sign Diop. Daniels / Snow Hughes / Pavlovic James / Jackson / Newble Gooden / Varejao Ilgauskas / Diop
I wasn't saying that Redd was the best option, and I wasn't including Z as a scoring option considering we haven't re-signed him yet. I was just saying if without Z and/or a really good sg who would we turn to if say LeBron was hurt or in foul trouble? I'd rather have Joe Johnson or Larry Hughes over Redd, IMHO.

He's likely going to want near MAX MONEY and once again, alongside Lebron James he simply won't produce at the level he's being paid at. Stay away from free agents coming off career years, especially when your placing them alongside Lebron James because surely they won't repeat their contributions.
Well that's a good point but Hughes is a very good defenisve player & I just see him being signed if Redd or Allen don't get signed. Maybe Cuttino? I wouldn't mind having him here. I don't want Bobby Simmons though.
I'd love Redd but he says he wants to be the go-to-guy on whichever team he goes to and he obviously will not be the go-to-guy. I could see the Cavs having major problems with Z, LeBron, and Redd all on the floor at the same time. Someone like Cuttino Mobley would be a perfect fit, because he's mostly a role player. He was a pretty solid player when he played with Steve Francis in Houston, and I could see Mobley playing like that around LeBron. We look to have a pretty good shot at landing Antonio Daniels to play point, which is a much better option than McInnis. My lineup would probably look something like this: PG- Daniels SG- Mobley SF- LeBron PF- Gooden C- Z

Than with the money saved from not blowing it on Michael Redd you can aquire solid role players to come off the bench. It just makes more sense.
I think what you guys are saying is true. If you get someone who is coming off a career year, you will be disappointed because their stats will drop. You need some good role players to place beside LeBron. I think that Daniels would be a great fit for your team. He likes the up tempo style of play, is a good pg, and plays good D. I'm not really sure what would be a good fit for your SG spot though, that's a tough one. I also believe that you should try to keep Z if you can, a good big man is pretty tough to come by. And the idea of Radmanovic is a good one too.
What Role players do we need. We have alot of depth once we get our starters in place. We could use a backup Center if Z is re-signed. Ok, I like the idea of Mobley, We could get him cheaper & he would make an immediate impact but come on. he is like 5th on the Cavs' radar for a SG.
