<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Boston Herald:</div><div class="quote_post">According to sources, the Rockets contacted Walker's agent, Mark Bartelstein, and expressed interest in the power forward who returned to the Celtics in a trade this past February. Walker, in turn, showed interest in the Rockets and reportedly could be visiting Houston as early as next week.</div> FULL STORY Houston only had a Mid-Level Exception to spend, roughly five million dollars, but Walker has to be considering a spot on The Rocket's Roster giving their potential to become a championship contender in the near future. Walker would fit in well in my opinion, he'd give Yao Ming more room to operate because of his ability to spread the defense to the 3-Point line. Interesting none the less...
This is a tough decision for Antoine. If all things were equal I would think that Walker would be inclined to go to Houston. I know that he enjoys being a Celtic and I would like him to stick around just to be able to show all the young guys how to act as a professional (say whatever you want about his on-court game, off court he's about as good a guy as you could hope for). But he's not going to get much over the MLE from the Celtics (Danny may throw an extra million or so in there for ego's sake, but Toine isn't getting the 14 mil he made this year). So if the salaries are just about equal I would bet that he would rather go to Houston and be closer to a championship.

The guy is still relatively young, he's still a 20 point-10 rebound-4 assist type player. He's a pro on and off the court, a true class act. Mid Level Exception? No. Perhaps if Antoine Walker wants to be on a Championship Contender he will except that. However, this guy IS INFACT worth a little more than that. No he won't be receiving 14.6 Million Dollars like he did last season, but I could see alot of teams offering Antoine Walker 8-9 Million Dollars on a 3 or 4 year deal. He's still a SOLID basketball player, the numbers are still there, and alot of teams would like to have him. I think the majority of Boston fans will be surprised about how many teams will indeed pursue Antoine Walker with more than just a MID LEVEL EXCEPTION.
