The following from the Miami Herald:

"While the process of re-signing O'Neal has officially begun, so have free agent negotiations around the league, and it appears inevitable that guard Keyon Dooling will sign elsewhere.

Nets head coach Lawrence Frank flew to Miami to meet with Dooling on Friday, and the team is interested in signing him as a combo guard to play behind and beside Jason Kidd. The Heat, meanwhile, has accepted that Dooling will sign elsewhere and won't pursue the guard who averaged 5.2 points and 1.8 assists in 74 regular-season games last season."

I'm disappointed that the Heat will not even try to retain him. But I guess Dooling should of just accepted the offer he had on the table for next year & come back and win a Title! Dooling was our spark plug off the bench and looked to have a promising future with the franchise.

I wonder what the Heat plan to do. Bring back Damon Jones? Free Agent?
The Free Agent point guards available to the Heat are nothing to get excited about.

The problem with Dooling is that this guy shoots first. If he can make them consistenly, its fine but that's another problem with having him. Unless he agrees to give the frigging ball to cutting Wade or Shaq right under the rim, he's good to go to me..

Alright.. so DJ opted out.. and Dooling is gone...

Wow what a nice PG situation we have here right now.

I"m sure we can easily find some replacements though... we have the Shaq daddy and Riley.

Its a shame the dooling is leaving. The heat really needed showone who wasnt scared to shoot. U take wade off the floor who do u have (besides SHAQ). NO ONE. In order for the Heat to get better they need that offensive minded gaurd to come in when wade takes a seat. This will also open things up for both wade and shaq, when they are all on the court at the same time.

All I have to say is Antonio Daniels. This man could bring you everything Damon Jones provided you with he is just as good a ball handler, scorer, and he is a great shooter from the free throw line. At the age of 30 he could come in, and have an immediate influence on the locker room and the players. He is sought after by many teams however the Sonics, Lakers, Cleveland, and if you can not get him how about Bobby Jackson unrestricted free agent from the Kings. A couple years back he won the sixth man of the year award unfortunately for him he had a couple of injury whittled seasons after that, and that has lowered his stock in the free agent market. So he could probably cheap to the Heat.

If all else fails you can always move Wade back to point guard and have him be your floor leader with Jones at the shooting guard slot and Rasual Butler starting at small forward. Your bench would not be as deep if you make that move, but you would have five capable scorers in the starting lineup. A problem they will have with Dooling gone, and if they move Butler to the starting rotation is someone who could come off the bench and change the tempo of the game with there scoring and shooting ability. Well the free agency season has just started so it is no reason for the Heat to begin to panic yet there are many viable options on the market.

Daniels definetly would be an upgrade over Damon Jones.

Dooling is probably going to the Nets, maybe somewhere else though, anywhere but the Heat.

The most importnat thing is that we have Haslem who is willing to take a paycut to play with the organization that gave him a chance to show what he's made of...

I wouldnt mind getting Antonio Daniels or Bobby Jackson they are both better than Damon Jones IMO.

I dont know about Jackson, he's definitely better when healthy, but is he ever healthy? It's a risk signing him and expecting him to become the starting PG.

Arroyo is a pass first guy with flashy skills, theres been rumors of him going to Memphis, and Arroyo isn't the type of PG Brown wants.

Heat should also try to get Sprewell, since you guys are serious about getting that Title, adding this verteran would upgrade this team, defensively and offensively, Sprewell is very clutch, and a great guy to depend on a team, even if he has aged.

    Arroyo for

    Doleac
    Butler

lol......sorry its just be a dream of mines to see Arroyo to play in Miami, cause I have alot of family there, and that was the perfect place for him, so this is unrealstic, but i had to let this out

    Arroyo/Wade
    Wade/Wright
    Jones/Woods
    Haslem/Samien
    Shaq/Mourning

but to a serious note, if you guys do get Sprewell, this Lineup would be dangerous

    Wade
    Jones
    Sprewell
    Haslem
    Shaq

Arroyo would of been perfect in Miami before he went to Utah. He is a hometown guy in Miami after setting records at Florida Int'l University. But I don't see him coming to Miami now.

I can't imagine Latrell Sprewell in a HEAT uniform [IMG] Too many Knick memories.

Antonio Daniels seems like the best of available choices.

There are not many Point Guards we can afford, unless we trade someone.

Spreewell... I do not want or like his attitude. I really wouldn't want him in a Heat jersey... I wouldn't be surprised if he choked SVG for pulling him off.

He's got problems and he really needs to get his prioroties straightened out.

Right now, Antonio Daniels, Earl Watson would be at the top of my PG/FA list, however, they are being coveted by many teams. If we do have to move Wade back to the PG spot, then signing Tyronne Lue as a backup would not be a bad idea, as long as we don't use our MLE.
