<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After Jazz vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor discovered Friday that Raja Bell was leaving for Phoenix, one of his first phone calls went to Noah Croom, agent for Philadelphia's Willie Green. NBA teams now can negotiate with free agents. Green had a limited role last season for the 76ers. He might be looking for more of an opportunity to play, and the Jazz have always liked his abilities. Utah worked out Green prior to the 2003 draft, but Seattle took him with the 41st pick in the second round and traded him to Philadelphia</div> Source I'll forget all about Bell if we get Willie Green, he's a younger version of Raja Bell in my eyes.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't really know what he can do, I hope you are right though</div> Green is a very special player that is loaded with potential. While this season he wasn?t of much use to the 76ers, he is going to be a very useful asset next seasons that?s if he remains. For the most part of the season he played as Iverson emergency backup. In the games that Iverson missed he was bumped into the starting lineup, and with that opportunity he made the most out of it by averaging over 20 PPG and in fact scored 32 points against the Wizards and led them to victory. Before the 04-05 season many analyst predicted him to get the MIP award or at least be heavily considered for it. But since O'Brien flip flopped him around throughout the whole season he never had the chance to stay on top of his game and be consistent whatsoever. However, when he does get his minutes he makes the most of it. This guy is a very special player, thus that is why Billy King the 76ers GM has made it clear that he will match and offer. If he happens to slip in the Utah Jazz in which I would be very disappointed, this guy could make a name for himself in this superstar-vacant team.
Willie Green is a very good player and Philadelphia fans tell it how it is. Whenever he was asked to play he produced, and led the 76ers over the Mavs and Wizards in AI's absence. In his rookie year he played good as well, and if the 76ers use him right he has a bright future. With O'Brien gone it is likely his talent will be re evaluated and hopefully reissued into some significant playing time. The 76ers plan on keeping him so I wouldn't be expecting him in Salt Lake City any time soon.
