^ we are talking the Lakers here. The Lakers have always been able to pull rabbits out of their hats. I think we should just let the off-season do the talking.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=bayless/050701 All Lakers fans should read that article. I did see Bynum's profile that they are talking about. This dude is a moron! You guys have no chance.

He's also comparing himself to Shaq and Kareem. If you read this article and saw his little profile, and you're not a Lakers fan you can see what a retard he is.
Yes, Lakers used to be able to pull rabbits out of their asses why??? Becasue they had big Shaq Daddy, who doesn't want to play with him? Malone took a paycut, Payton did, to play with Kobe too, but mostly b/c of Shaq, and do not deny that fact. Shaq brings FAs, and the first off-season without Shaq will hurt. What is Kupchak gonna do? That tool... Along wth Jerry Buss.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">MJ learned to believe in his teammates, after Phil Jackson came aboard. Kobe doesn't trust his teammates and wants all the spotlight, please give us some facts on those comments. If it's your opinion fair enough, but I think the Kobe "selfish" argument is completely overexaggerated.</div> I dont have any real facts other then, if u look back to the lakers run and then look at all the games that were won on a last second shot(other then those shot by KB8), who passed it to them? I dont remember KB8 ever passing it to that person. It was Shaq or someone else. If u look at MJ, the ball was ALWAYS in his hands and the final selection was decided by him. 9out of 10 he shot it, but if he knew that he couldn't get the shot he would pass it up to someone else who had a wide open shot. U can go back to all those games and watch em.
I think it's kinda selfish of Kobe when he handles the ball 90% of the game. Odom never really gets a chance to do what he does, except grab rebounds which is what he did this year getting over 10. It's obvious that Kobe is a selfish player hands down there is no denying it. He is a great player, but he's selfish, I don't see why Laker fans are trying to defend that aspect of his game...
I justy don't see how in the world someone can point to a link that takes you to page 2. All that site is for is entertainment. It hardly ever offers interesting or useful information. I know this becuse I often read the site to get a few laughs but besides that there really isn't much substance at all.

I have a ton of other examples that dont involve Malone and Payton. the LAKERS PULLING RABBITS OUT OF THEIR HATS MR WADE!!! Drafting Baylor as the #1 pick in 1958 Drafting Jerry West #2 in 1960 Wilt Chamberlain from the 76ers in 1968 Kareem ABDUL Jabbar from Milwalkee in 1975 Ervin Magic Johnson (dont remember what pick he went)from the Draft in 1979 James Worthy with the #1 pick in 1982 Shaq the Diesel comes to LA from ORLANDO for nothing in return! in 1996 Kobe Bryant from Charlotte in 1996 Glen Rice in 1999 (not a very good rabbit though) Phil Jackson becomes coach in 1999 Malone, Payton play for minimum in 2003 Phil Jackson returns as coach in 2005 And Im just waiting for more rabbits during our rebuild! TRUST ME! The Lakers will be back. There were smaller rabbits such as the aquistion of Robert Horry from Houston, Dennis Rodman, Cedrick Ceballos, etc.. But the Lakers have always bounced back from bad seasons with huge trades, aquisitions, and drafts. Dont start with the Shaq Daddy BS, has everything to do with the Lakers success. The Lakers will be back! WATCH OUT NOW! haha. Oh yeah, and we have JACK NICKLESON too! Who does the Heat have on the sidelines for over 15-20 years?
Ok, who cares about the stuff before 1990... and the only huge thing that isn't a draft pick is Shaq and Kobe... Malone and Payton came b/c of Shaq. How can you guys pull rabbit's out of your asses with Jerry Buss and Mitch freakin' Kupchak. The 2 people who traded the MDPE for Odom, Butler and a FAT contract. PJ came for the dollar bills baby, not for anything else. Do you think he cares or even thinks he can win a 10th ring with the team he has? Probably not. He's just comin for the 3 year 30 million dollar contract.... Oh yea, hehas his eyes on that new luxury Armani Yacht. Haha...
Let me refresh your memory, polishtrain, about Kobe not passing at crunchtime. A few months back, the past season's only NY-LA game played at Madison Square Garden featured a down-to-the-wire finish when the Lakers came back from big deficit in the fourth quarter, took the lead, appeared headed for a win, but the Knicks forged ahead by two with a few ticks left. Remember that game? Yeah the Knicks would win by two. Remember what made the Lakers lose? Kobe had the ball, drove into the lane into a thicket of defenders, and then at the last moment, passed the ball to an open Luke Walton on the weak side for an easy, easy, EASY lay-up. But can you imagine the horror for Laker fans when Walton, instead of laying the ball in to tie for overtime, passed the ball back to Kobe who wasn't expecting it? Needless to say, Kobe had no more time to tee up another shot and the Lakers lost. How could you have missed that, Knick fan polishtrain? If you missed the game, you still would've seen it because it was all over the news (ESPN, CNN, etc). You probably won't remember many recent Laker games won on a last second shot made by other Laker players (except Robert Horry's Sacto killer three and Derek Fisher's San Anto 0.4 killer) because Kobe's one of the best clutch players in the game. So in a matter of speaking, Kobe is expected to take that final shot by his team, his coach, heck even his opponent. BUT get this, Kobe does pass, even at crunchtime. Luke Walton would later apologize for not capitalizing on that pass. So it's clear that Kobe had not always had someone better positioned to pass to, or had someone who can counted on to make the final shot. At least, Kobe hasn't pulled that stunt where he took himself out at crunchtime because Phil Jackson called Toni Kukoc's number for the last shot. Now that's what I call a Kodak SELFISH moment.

I did see Bynum's profile that they are talking about. This dude is a moron! You guys have no chance.</div> LOL .. I actually wrote to Skip Bayless after he wrote this article. He's a terrible sports reporter, just read through his archives. There were so many inconsistencies with his article it's sad to think he works for the "Worldwide Leader in Sports." Skip calling out a 17 year old kid is pathetic. BTW - That Myspace was never run by Andrew Bynum, it was a spoof site. There are plenty of other spoof celebrities on MySpace.com. Mr.Wade speaking of pulling things out of their asses, Kobe handles the ball 90% of the time? Sure buddy. Your statement is the perfect example of how overexaggerated Kobe's "selfish" play is. When he was taking more shots playing with Shaq the Lakers were winning titles. No one complained about him being selfish then, and now he takes less shots per game and he's called selfish. It's really quite laughable. Malone and Payton came because they wanted a ring, they didn't come to play with Shaq. If that were true then they would have followed him to the Heat.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting polishtrain:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont have any real facts other then, if u look back to the lakers run and then look at all the games that were won on a last second shot(other then those shot by KB8), who passed it to them? I dont remember KB8 ever passing it to that person. It was Shaq or someone else. </div> That last sentence is terribly inaccurate...think about what you're saying....do u think they would even let Shaq touch the ball with the game on the line with his foul shooting?? or maybe let Horry, Fisher, or Rick Fox handle the rock with the game on the line? The fact is other than the fluke game winners (i.e Horry vs Kings, Fish vs Spurs), Kobe has been involved in every laker game winner, either by scoring it himself or getting the assist. Off the top of my head, I'll name a few situations where Kobe passed up game-winners... (again off the top of my head so there are probably instances I missed) - Horry's buzzer beater versus Portland in the 1st round of the playoffs...Kobe drives past Patterson, Pippen comes in to help, leaving Horry at the corner....swish...Lakers win...Kobe game winnning assist.. -Ron Harper's game winning jumper with a few (2?) seconds to spare at the left corner vs Portland as well....Kobe drives and kicks to harper for the win... - Kobe's pass to a wide open Luke Walton under the basket this past season....Walton decides to pass up a layup, lakers lose... - Kobe's pass to Horry versus the Spurs two years ago in the playoffs. Horry's shot goes in and out, Lakers lose...
I hate to bring YET ANOTHER example of Kobe passing the ball on the game winning shot but I have an example that will force people to shut about him not passing when he needs to. Three years ago the Lakers Swept the blazers out of the first round back when it was still in a 5 game format. Anyways, game 3 the lakers were down two points with about 4 seconds on the clock. Of course the ball is in Kobe's hand, he drives the lane, scottie pippen leaves his man ( can u guess who it was?) and doubles Kobe, good ol' 8 then zips a pass to the right corner where the a guy by the name of big shot rob was standing and nailed the three to win the game and the series. What bigger example do you need then a series deciding playoff game to show that Kobe knows when and when not to pass. Another thing- It's a statistical fact that Shaq received more passed from Kobe then ANY other player in the 8 years shaq played there. Not just by number of assists keep in mind, but by pass-per possession into shaq, kobe set him up the highest percentage of time than any other player.
He's not Big Shot Rob, he's Big Shot Bob I think. Dunno why... So... you have to go back 3 years to find an example of Kobe passing the ball?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">- Kobe's pass to a wide open Luke Walton under the basket this past season....Walton decides to pass up a layup, lakers lose...</div> There you go.
the Lakers were not going to win 50 games last season even if Kobe was healthy. I believe the second half of their season was a harder schedule than their first half. Kobe will not win MVP next year, because even if they manage a nice addition at either the point guard or center(unlikely b/c they only have MLE) they won't be a top 4 team in the West, which an MVP usually needs lead his team to that level to receive an award of such recognition.

I've been following the Lakers since I was a child. The Lakers have missed the post-season for just the 4th time since 1960. That tells you something. They are a franchise that can pull some nice RABBITS! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post"> - Kobe's pass to a wide open Luke Walton under the basket this past season....Walton decides to pass up a layup, lakers lose... </div> That game still bothers me.
