Friday's announcement that Raja Bell had agreed to join the Phoenix Suns and end his two-year stint came as a bit of a surprise. The surprise wasn't so much that Bell was leaving the Jazz, but that he jumped at the chance to do so as quickly as he did.

The Suns, who struck like lightning in free-agent negotiations last summer by drawing point guard Steve Nash away from the Dallas Mavericks on the first day of the negotiating period, offered Bell a multi-year contract believed to amount to more than $25 million dollars. Bell snapped at the bait, and the Jazz remorsefully accepted the parting of the ways.

Bell will definitely be missed. He came to Utah as a free agent with a reputation for tough defense, then showed during his two seasons with the Jazz that he could score as well. He was a team leader both on the court and in the locker room. It's hard to estimate the worth of that kind of player.

So what now? Well, Bell's departure does leave the Jazz with some more money to try and lure free agents of their own to Utah. The Jazz are definitely looking for another point guard to join their first-round draft pick, Deron Williams, and a third point guard, most likely restricted free agent Keith McLeod, who received a qualifying offer from Utah at the end of the week.

The Jazz are also believed to be looking for a center who can be a defensive stopper in the paint. And they may also be interested in finding another off-guard to replace Bell.</div>

I thought Daniels left Seattle so he could start?

He isn't coming here, and I thought someone posted this already in Utah's forum? Watson is interested though, that's good news.
