Bobby Knight was such a huge draw at Indiana, and back then the team fit the definition of prestigious. The dynasty talks focussed around four teams; UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Indiana. Times have changed, and you're seeing the product of losing seasons (not losing seasons in the sense that they're under .500, but rather in the sense that they're not typical Indiana seasons). Big time prospects want to play for winners (although why Oden went to a non-winner in OSU puzzles me). At least Oden is helping the Big Ten in general get back on it's feet. It's been a long decade since the prominence of teams like Michigan and Indiana. Anyway, I think Mike Davis should be fired.

Davis I think is here for next year, but after that it depends on how well they do. Davis has failed to not only win but recruit. To lose Oden, who lives less than an hour away to OSU is just sad. I miss that season when they made it to the championship, the whole town was so hyped IU has fallen so far

Don't you love how he missed that Free Throw that could have given Duke the game? Davis' recruiting has started to get to me as well. He needs more Coverdales and less Wrights. No, I don't mean he needs more white kids; he just needs tougher, more well rounded kids. I don't think Wright would have lasted long under Knight. This incoming team with Monroe, Killingsworth, Strickland, White, and Vaden is nothing like the teams Knight used to assemble.
I loved Coverdale and Moye. This team just doesn't have the heart. I kinda think that the run didn't have much to do with Davis. I think that Knight brought all those guys in and than Davis came in. Who else is out there that they could get? And would they be an upgrade over Davis? (Serious question)

(Serious question)</div> How about Steve Alford? You know the guy would die to have the Indiana job. Then there's Isaiah Thomas, although he sucks a General Manager, so I doubt he'd be much better as a coach. I like the players that Alford gets. Even though he recruited guys like Reggie Evans and Pierre Pierce that ended up with discipline problems, I loved both of their games, especially Evans, who played typical tough, Big Ten type basketball. Then you've got guys like Haluska, Brunner, and Horner returning to next year's team. Nope, recruiting wouldn't be a problem for Alford.
