<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Veteran Orlando guard Doug Christie, who earlier demanded a trade, hasn't changed his feelings, according to Magic coach Brian Hill. "He's coming off (ankle) surgery and it's tough to trade people until they can prove their value again," Hill said of Christie, who played just 21 games with the Magic after being acquired from Sacramento. "Hopefully he'll have a change of mind . . . because I think Doug is a pretty good basketball player, especially at the defensive end of the floor. I'd love to have him back here to try and fit in with this team." After having season-ending surgery on his left ankle, Christie demanded a trade and ripped into then-general manager John Weisbrod for not defending him against media criticism. Weisbrod met with Christie in Seattle in May, but Weisbrod then resigned weeks later.</div> Source
Good I never liked him b4 he came here his hand motions were very annoying. He did good in the Detroit game but thats mostly it. Trade for someone but who would want him?
We will likely cut him, which will suck. I prefer to keep him until the deadline and trade him to rebuilding team looking for salary cap room and to unload max contracts of good players. We could maybe swing a deal to get a star, similar to the Baron Davis trade last year.
I?m hoping to package him off in a trade to get rid of his contract. I think if any team expresses interest in one of our players who is having a good season early next year we will make sure that the only way a trade happens is with Christie?s contract involved in trade negotiations. Doug is a player who was extremely over rated and over hyped when the trade for Mobley went down. A single player can not improve a team?s entire defense.
Why did the Magic trade Mobley for now seems like virtually nothing. They could have got so much for Mobley, b/c he's a quality 2 guard and he has an expiring contract. Big mistake for the Magic organization.
Get rid of him and his expiring contract. He didn't help us last year and was probably the reason we didn't make the playoffs. To think we traded Mobley for this guy...
i never like Christe. Somethin about him just isnt good. i still remember how awaful he was when he played for the knicks
We missed up, lets get rid of him and move on. Maybe we can do a sign-and-trade with portland for shareef-adbur rahim and get rid of christie. Im sure they wouldnt mind an expiring contract with their roster. Plus that would give us a chance to pay shareef more which may work for both teams. What do you guys think?

If it doesnt work out with the knicks, this deal might very well happen
How about trading him back to the Kings? With Cuttino Mobley opting out, his days are done in Sacramento, and the Kings really missed Doug Christie in the playoffs. I would trade him straight up for Darius Songalia. Or just hold onto him for the trade deadline. I'm sure teams would want him on their roster as a defensive specialist during a post-season push.
Could we trade him+Kato and Garity to Philly for CWebb? Could we cut his pay? I say trade for maybe some picks also trade Kato for some picks build around Dwight and Nelson.
Well if you guys read the article for Thursday we are not looking at A. Daniels. At first I was kinda mad, but after thinking about it, I want Jameer as our starting PG. I think after the way he finished last season he deserves a shot at it. As far as christie we need to get what we can for this guy. He is a waste of space on the roster and $8 million. We should be able to get something for him, Reef would be nice with that low posting scoring but at this time anything will do. I think one of the reasons we fell of last season after trading mobley was lack of 3 point shooting. Besides francis and terk we did not shoot that many 3pters. I think we need to get either low post scorer or 3 pt threat.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">I would not mind if Mobely came back for Christe.</div> I would hate this if Mobley came back for a couple of reasons. 1. Dwight is our future, he HAS to be #3 option this year, with Mobley and Francis on the same team, they will be 1 and 2 no matter what(even with Grant Hill playing). Grant Hill would be #3 option and Dwight will be #4 getting about 8-10 shots, just like last year. 2. The reason for our downfall before the Mobley/Christie trade, IMO was that Francis and Mobley were getting too comfortable with each other and they just passed back and forth and not as much to the other guys such as Dwight, Grant Hill, Hedo, etc. It was more of a 2 man game. I'm not sure if I'm the only person who noticed this...... 3. Mobley really isn't a good passer. We need our 4 or 5 option players to be a good passer, because they will rarely see any shots. (remember Dwight as our #4 option last year got 8 shots a game)(This is if Mobley agrees to be the 4th option) Mobley wouldn't be an effective 4th option because he's like Garrity, he needs to shoot to be effective. Also everyone had to have noticed that Dwight seemed to get more confidence and more shots after Mobley was traded. There was an article in the Sentinel that was saying that Dwight felt like Francis didn't trust him last season, do you think that is gonna change with Mobley back? 4. Mobley's defense is suspect at best.

Doug Christie, I say good riddance you big baby! It's a shame that an individual being thrown that much money at them, can't act professional and put forth his best effort. If they have to put him on IL until they can package him up as an expiring contract, then I say... do it!
hmm why did they trade mobley?? dumbest trade imo, christi can leave if he wants just give him a penalty and let the magic get some cash they need it after all the madness goin on there.
