Sharpshooter Bullard to take microphone for road games

The Houston Rockets have not renewed the contract of broadcaster Calvin Murphy.

The team adds Clyde Drexler as television analyst for home and playoff games and Matt Bullard for away games.

Drexler, a Houston native, was a 10-time All-Star who played three and a half seasons with the Rockets, winning an NBA championship in 1995. Before his professional career, he played for the University of Houston during the successful "Phi Slamma Jamma" era.</div>

it's a very sad day. Calvin was funny and made me laugh. I don't why we couldn't bring him back, he was innocent. Well I hope Clyde is better than Van Chancellor.

I just heard this on the news. They said Les Alexander fired Murphy before but brought him back due to upset fans and press. Something like that. Anyways I hope that happens again. Bullard isnt the most exiting guy out there either.

I would like to see Drexler in home games and Murphy on away games, but its not up to me.....

What about Van Chancellor? There was something about his accent that was endearing.

I wasn't big of his accent. He just needs to stay with coaching and leave the Rockets alone, haha. He really had no sense of humor.

Van Chancellor did the worst job last year of any announcer. His accent is terrible, his voice is very high pitched, and he didn't really make any good points. I'm really angry they fired Calvin, he was one of main reasons I loved watching the Rockets. He and Bill were halarious together. What was Alexander thinking?

It's all coming together now. CD said, big off-season moves were coming..there it was!

Murphy for Drexler. Drexler was rumored to be the first pick of the Rocket's and he was picked 1st! Congrats Drexler, may you bragg on Ming and Mac!

That was what Alexander was thinking.

Why so high on Drexler? Is he actually a good TV analyst? I loved Murph! The chemistry between him and Worell is priceless. Especially when Calvin used to sing (horrible singer) and Bill would make that facial expression like "OH NO". That's something I think the Rockets will really regret, besides drafting a Pg instead of a bigman.

    Van Chancellor is an idiot.
During just about every game this season he told that story about how Juwan Howard drove him home after a game one time.
He should definitely stick to the wnba.

yeah I heard about this yesterday on the news.......I grew up watchin bill and calvin, so of course I hate to hear the news that he isn't coming back..............it was said that when Murphy went to a game this past season (after he was found not guilty) that Les Alexander passed him and said "hey" and that's it...........something tells me Les was never a big fan of Calvin's.

They also interviewd Bill and he also wanted Murph back.

And calvin also said that he will always be a Houstonian and a Rocket. So if you see em in the street tell him thank you!

Les has to think about the Rockets image guilty or not even though hes the best guy for the job we cant have him...also i read that Les Alexander is thinking of selling the comets because he is losing money off of them...maybe thats why Van Chancellor is not going to announce or maybe because he just sucks and makes obvious comments about the game and I dont think clyde should really announce he has no personality; he will just sit there and..........yeah just sit there

What really hurts is that I was all set up to go to Calvin's basketball camp before the abuse stuff came up [IMG] Anyway, here's looking at Clyde, hope he does well.

Guilty or not, he deserves to come back. He was funny as hell as a commentator. Even coming back it won't stop him to do more or less crime..he was funny even games we got pounced on i still found the games enjoyable because of his jokes. He even found a lot of positives from the rockets when they lost other than other commentators who keep touching on their weaknesses

I don't really know much about Calvin, but theres a question i'd like to ask..
I know about the molestation charge, but was it his children who filed the case against him? if not then who?
