I just read an article in the boston globe. it said that the veteran's return is set at 90% right now. i was saying this all along, that is after i read what exactly caused the stroke. from what i had read this type of stroke doesn't limit the person in any way after the surgery is done to fix the problem. i hope he is healthy and that he does play. i think he is one of the greatest linebackers out there, no one has more heart than this guy.
I'm pumped to hear this...though until this info comes from Bruschi's mouth I'm going to try and not get my hopes up...but I must say to hear that someone close to him says he is 90% set to return to the pats is great news...lets hope he does because that LB core will be even better with him...

He has 3 rings and a stroke is no laughing matter. I would call it quits. His health and his family is more impotant than football. I wish him luck this season and I hope he leads the league in tackles.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (panthersare#1)</div><div class='quotemain'>hes already accomplished so much, why risk his life?</div> Thats the thing...who knows more about what he would be risking then him...we aren't in the doctors office and from what I understand the cause of his stroke is something (hole in your heart) that alot of people have and don't know it...and was repaired surgery in a somewhat common procedure. I will wait to hear it from his mouth before I believe he is going to play..but what I do know is he is a class individual and his family will come first...if he decided to play its cause his lively hood is not in danger..
people who have strokes are usally not as good as they were before. He might not have his insticts and awareness like he did last year. People that have had strokes usally lose part of their memory

We don't know what the doctor is saying, so it is useless to guess. If he does have a decent risk, I would retire if it were me in his situation. If there is basically little or no risk, why not try. If he isn't as good for some reason, he will soon learn. BB won't put him on the field if he isn't the best player for that position.
well he knows best and i guess i should have waited to start this post. oh well, i think he did make the best choice, i will just hope that he gets strong and come back next year.
ya its too bad..thats why I wanted to hear it from him before I believed he was playing...but I had my hopes because he is one of my favorties...such a tragedy because a few more years at the level he was playing..he may have been able to get in the hall...
Its really sad Bruschi was oen of my favorite players on the pats squad last year and favorite players period, very classy guy lets hope he comes back to us after this season. I loved watchin Teddy, Mike, Roosevelt, and Willi last year, one of the best Linebacker core in the league, it lost Brushci but Chad Brown should be able to give them some help there, Do you guys still have Roman Phifer?
We let Phifer go but his locker is still intact...basically he hasn't made a decision if he is going to retire or not...I think it would be hard for him to make the team anyways...we have Colvin, McGinest, Vrabel, Ted Johnson, Brown, Biesel. Claridge (5th round pick this year), Don Davis, Izzo, Tully Banta-Cain (1 pick on loserman lol), and a host of no namers.. Oh and welcome to the forums NFLQueen...who is your team?
