EL SEGUNDO - Ready or not, top draft pick Andrew Bynum will be presented to Lakers fans tonight when the 7-foot 17-year-old debuts in a summer pro league game against a Memphis Grizzlies team tonight at the Pyramid in Long Beach.

Bynum, the youngest NBA player ever drafted when he was selected by the Lakers with the 10th pick in last month's draft, said he is ready for his first game as a professional.

"I'm really not nervous," Bynum said Thursday at practice. "I believe in myself a lot. I'm very confident; not cocky, very confident. I just want to go out there and give it my best."

Bynum is expected to be joined by fellow rookies Ronny Turiaf and Von Wafer, who were chosen in the second round (Nos. 37 and 39, respectively), as well as second-year guard Sasha Vujacic.

The Lakers aren't expecting Bynum, who said he last played organized basketball in March, to tear up the summer league. They would simply like to see progress over the eight games.

"I'm sure he's going to be extremely nervous out there," said Lakers assistant Kurt Rambis, one of the team's summer league coaches. "And probably in all likelihood, judging from what's happened to past players, he's probably going to get into foul trouble. So he's going to get frustrated with that.

"But we're just going to continue to work with him and make sure that he does the things that we want him to do. He's going to make an awful lot of mistakes before he has successes. But that's just part of the learning process."

With the Lakers looking for a power forward, the 6-foot-10, 249-pound Turiaf may have a good shot because of his rugged play in four years at Gonzaga. </div>
