<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas has narrowed his focus to two unrestricted free agents, believed to be big men Stromile Swift and Jerome James. Thomas has met with Swift and been in communication with James' agent and hopes to sign either one of them before turning his gaze elsewhere. Speaking yesterday on MSG Network at halftime of the Knicks' summer-league game in Las Vegas, Thomas made it clear he wanted one of those two players to be a presence in the middle next year. "I'd like to add another shot-blocker to the team," Thomas said. "I thought last year defensively, particularly inside, we didn't necessarily have the girth or the length. Right now, there are a couple of players out there, one of them gives us length (Swift) and the other one gives us girth (James). If I can add either one of those players, it would be a good addition in the off-season for us, because both of those guys can block shots." </div> Source
Swift won't help this team, he's not a center, his offensive is still raw, after NBA experience, and he's not a good rebounder. James would be a pretty good pick up, just don't over pay him.
wow, with those guys targeted as a team's top off season priorities, Isiah must just be trying to get himself fired. At least for the fans' sake, say that you're going to make a legit run at a guy like Dalembert, or Ilgauskas. Classic Isiah
Yeah, why would these guys be isaiahs main focus. he should be out there looking for guys like Big Z and dalembert.
Big Z is nice, but he really doesn't fit the direction the Knicks are trying to go in with their athleticism etc. Isiah would prefer Swift because he's younger more athletic and despite his lack of size, he makes up for it with his length and leaping ability. He's an excellent shotblocker and averahes about 1.5 blocks in only 21 minutes! If he plays 30 or so minutes in New York, he would be great for us. Let's get Stromile! I would like Dalembert better, but Stromile seems easier to get for us. Perhaps one of our expiring contracts could land him us?

Isiah is trying to build a young athletic team. I think Swift fits in with New York, though, I'd rather see him go to Atlanta.
what is the knicks offering Swift? im from houston and they said we were offering him only $5 mill. cause we only have the mid-level exception...
