It was just reported on the ESPNEWS channel that the Bucks signed F Bobby Simmons to a 5-year deal. Since this news just came in, there is no link to confirm it. But again, this came in as breaking news on ESPN just a few minutes ago.

    And the Bucks fortune continues...

    WOW

Senator Kohl's serious.. 2 big signings, Bogut & Simmons.. And 2 big returns, Redd and Ford.. Huge..

They've got a pretty good 2-3 rotation now w' Redd, Mason, and Simmons..

Wow I thought for sure he was going back to the Clippers. Like shape said, this offseason has been awesome for the Bucks and I think they are contenders in the East. Ford, Redd, Simmons, Smith, Bogut and Mason coming off the bench is a great lineup. I like what the Bucks are doing and are now my pick for turnaround team next season.

He is a great pickup and everything but may I ask why they signed him for so much. They already got Desmond Mason, who on talent should be starting but then again you can't have 47 million sitting on the bench. Should be interesting to see who starts, Mason who I believe is the better talent or Simmons who is getting paid 47 million dollars. Either way the Bucks are still having an A+ off-season even if they take Simmons off the bench, with Bogut, Redd, and Simmons right now I'd say they are off to the best start.

$9.4 million/year for Bobby? I mean I love Bobby and all, but that is just HUGE! Well the Clippers can now move Maggette back to SF, and should look into getting Mobley, or someone lol

So, since they got Simmons, he'll take shots away from Bogut, so can this help me in the ROY argument? Cuz I need everything I can get.

They needed a PF to play and help Bogut out, but they got better regardless.

Nice Pickup but 47 Million is to much for Bobby.

    WOW...

And the Wizards' luck continues. I think they are out of playoff contention by the way rosters look. I'm not saying they are done, I'm just saying my Washington Wizards aren't a top 8 team in the east anymore when you look at the rosters.

As for the Bucks, nice signing. Their luck just continues, Simmons will compliment Bogut and Redd very well, especially Bogut down the line when he is panned out.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Either way the Bucks are still having an A+ off-season </div> I disagree.I wouldnt give a team that much credit for giving out ridiculous contracts. They'll be good, but the two new contracts theyve given out are just dumb.Getting Bobby Simmons doesnt really even make sense for the bucks.

Good pick up by the Bucks but I hope that Boby wont move Desmond on the Bench, Boby could be 6th man.

These days you need to pay to get the players you want. The Bucks badly needed a good small forward and they have finally got one. They can now use Desmond Mason as a spark plug off the bench. Which he is best suited as.

Well said Allnet, I agree. D-Mase is better as a spark plug off the bench. He was a starter last year, and he didn't do bad it's just he is a better player when coming off the bench and providing all that energy and high flying action.

I think the Larry Hughes signing by the Cavs, forced the Bucks into adding Bobby Simmons and having to overpay him. If you look at how the East is shaping up so far the Cavs and Bucks will be competing for the Wizards playoff spot and trying to avoid a last place finish in the Central division. The Cavs had the edge of after getting Hughes, so the Bucks had to make a move to get back in the mix. It's possible the entire Central division makes the playoffs next season in the East.

    Detroit, Indiana, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland

Should be a wild race all season long.
