I'm expecting a slight increase in his stats, probably 19-9.5 while maintaining the same across all the other categories. I can't imagine him improving his already-torching 55% FG average, but the rest might improve slightly. Yao should be fresher to play next year after getting the desperately needed and well deserved rest.
I see maybe an increase in points with the pick and roll with tmac but everything else about the same
I think he will improve quite a bit because he has already made it clear his ambition is to become a better player and improve more than he has shown so far and believe me he's gonna make the effort.
The fact that he will finally rest in the offseason might improve his conditioning and allow him for minutes. Therefore he hsould have increased stats, mainly points and rebs
I think he should get more playing time!!! If he does, we will see an increase in his numbers mayb a 20 / 10 guy...
Foul troubles are holding Yao back in terms of playing time. If the Rockets can get a weak side defender so Yao won't have to be the one who's helping from the weakside and picking up inevitable fouls. Just because of that, I can see him getting maybe 3-5 minutes more per game, upping his numbers to around 19.5 points and 9 rebounds. He's improved stat wise every year in the league, and I doubt that as Yao approaches his peak, he would take any steps back.
Im thinking this is the year where Yao will give us a double-double season average...I'm thinking 19/10...but I think he'll adjust better and stay out of foul trouble, and he'll be much more comfortable playing with McGrady and understanding what his role is and what is expected out of him...

Everyone will agree that Yao's presence was greater this year than it was last year. Once we get Yao a Point Guard who can play the ball into the post, then he will become a 20 point player. I predict a 20/9.5 season from him.

Yao is gonna be great next season. 22 ppg 12 rpg and 3 bpg. Lets face it people, hes got good work ethic, and he pretty much understands the NBA game going into his 3rd year.
If Yao gets into less foul trouble then i see him averaging about 20 ppg and about 9.2 rpg. Late in the season, Yao became more aggressive in the paint defensively and averaged a lot of blocks, so I really think he can step it up in that statistical category and get about 2.8 bpg or maybe even more--possible?
yaos gonna tear it up next year with the core he's played with this season cant wait to see the next season
I'm gonna be really optimistic and say Yao will be the 20 and 10 player that I dream of him being this year.
if they look to him more often in the post then maybe he can be a 20-10 guy but from what i saw last season, they ran the ball through t-mac a lot. He has to be more aggressive in getting post position. needs to be more aware of where his opponent is when posting up. iv'e seen it a lot of times when a PG comes up and steals the ball from behind. Also, his rebounding and timing could use a big improvement. For some reason he has soft hands and has trouble protecting the ball (turnovers). No doubts about his offensive game! one-on-one i don't think he can be stopped!
with yao's size he is slow of foot compared to the rest of the big men in the NBA. with the addition of a good weak side defender (swift) he can stop getting into foul trouble and play more minutes. Also with him finally being able to get some off season rest I forsee a better conditioned yao. he still has to work on catching the ball and not getting stripped, i'll go ahea and say 21/10.
Since he has been resting this offseason, I'm thinking he's up to make an impact next year. If he plays more minutes and won't be in foul trouble, I'm gunning for him to have a 19 to 21 point season to go with 10 to 11 rebounds per game. Hopefully this is not asking too much, since I think he's going to do better this year. (fingers crossed)
