A couple notable guys in there...of course Swifty and Petro will get a lot of attention this camp, i'm interested in watching Larry O'Bannon..he was impressive at points last season.
Cleaves, Miles, and Walsh are the only ones who strike me as having a chance. Since when was Richard Fox seven feet tall?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Casual:</div><div class="quote_post"> Since when was Richard Fox seven feet tall?</div> He was 6'11" in Gonzaga's media guides but that was pretty generous. I doubt a guy who's balding grew a few inches in his 20s...but you never know.
I could see Miles as a possible replacement for Antonio Daniels in the longterm, with him making a Marquis Daniels type impact in his first year.
If he got acontract this season it would be as a replacement for Mateen Cleaves...not Antonio Daniels.
I'm surprised that this roster lacks the talent that we've had in the past. I know that it is supposed to be about developing Bobby and Jo Pet, but we've always been able to find diamonds in the rough with the players that we've brought in. This team doesn't have anyone that looks to be a keeper from the naked eye. I know that Rick Sund and Dave Pendergraft has extended a ton of invitations to free agents and I'm surprised that this is the best that we've come up with. This list will be shortened before we begin play in the Rocky Mountain Revue but I was hoping for a list w/ a little more of a buzz. I guess Rick is going to have to keep a close eye on some other summer leagues as well as some of the European basketball players that don't have to be bought out of a contract. I don't think that any of these players could have the impact of a Damien Wilkins next year. For the record, Damien Wilkins is smart not to play in any summer league until he is locked up for a multi year deal. If he were to play poorly or get hurt that would substantially hurt his market value right now. As it stands right now I think that he has earned a three year "rookie salary" type contract going into next season (3 year/ 4-5 million dollar deal). If we don't offer more than a qualifying offer, someone else is going to snatch him up.
I'm very glad to see O'Bannon on a summer roster. I would love to see him make an NBA team. He is a very efficient scorer. He always finds a way to at least get into double digit scoring and he stepped up in some big games last season for the Cardinals with some bigtime scoring performances. Bascially, O'Bannon is a scorer. I'm also glad to see Aaron Miles make a summer roster as well. He brings in tons of leadership to whatever team he may be on.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Casual:</div><div class="quote_post">I think it's going to be hard for Miles to do that when he can't score.</div> Marquis Daniels Impact= Undrafted player coming into the NBA, making roster, and starting to play and get solid minutes towards playoff run <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, Mile is more of a Jacque Vaughn than AD or Marquis Daniels.</div> Read above...And by replacing AD, I don't know mean he's goin to be the next Antonio Daniels; I mean it as the backup PG.
Rashid Byrd has been added to the Sonics' Summer League roster. Byrd went to school at Eastern Oklahoma State and is a former And1 baller.

Helicopter went to East Tennessee State. I remember from the slam dunk contest a couple years back. According to Google, Byrd's nickname was "7 & Sum Change". Uh...it's original, I guess.
