<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">While Gadzuric will help solidify the Bucks' frontcourt, Charlie Bell figures to bolster the Bucks' backcourt. Bell, a former star guard at Michigan State, who played in Spain last season, is expected to sign with the Buck on July 22, the first day free agents can do so.
"Nothing is finalized yet, but the plan is for Charlie to join the Bucks,'' said Mark Bartelstein, Bell's agent. "We are working toward an agreement.''
Bell, who is a 6-foot-2 combo guard, is coming off an outstanding season for Leche Rio Breogn. He averaged 27 points a game and 47 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range.
Bell, who helped Michigan State win the NCAA Division I championship in 2000, piqued the curiosity of many NBA teams with a stellar workout last month in Chicago.
"He was very good,'' said an Eastern Conference player personnel director.
Bell subsequently visited Milwaukee and performed well enough to convince Bucks officials to extend him an offer. Bartelstein wouldn't disclose the offer, but it is believed to be for two years.
"There were a bunch of teams interested in Charlie; I'd say six or seven teams had serious interest in him,'' Bartelstein said. "But he felt good about his visit to Milwaukee. He thought the Bucks would be a real good fit for him.''
    * While Bell is expected to be the Bucks' fifth guard, backing up Redd, Jiri Welsch, T.J. Ford and Mo Williams, I've learned that Seattle SuperSonics free-agent guard Antonio Daniels is more than mildly interested in joining the Bucks.
Daniels' principal reason for considering the Bucks is that he is good friends with Redd. Both Redd and Daniels hail from Columbus, Ohio. Several teams are courting Daniels, among them being the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs.</div>
