We have the makings of a Dynasty here, We just have to play our cards right, Dwight could be a Larry Bird type center peice with a great team first Point Guard like Jameer running the offense. I'd want a great long lasting 2 or 3 but and a 5 but I think we have something special that will just grow brigger and stronger, I honestly at this piibnt don't want to add a superstar, I'd rather look for a diamond in the rough who will become a superstar.

I don't think we have a dynasty but we sure do have a heck of a team. We have the two young players in the paint that will only improve each year. Both play great defense and are monsters on the glass. We have the young point guard who can spread the ball around and score when needed. Like you said, I would like a nice shooting guard who can shoot the three and play solid defense but I wouldn't want a superstar who would take many shots away from Dwight. I think we have all the pieces to be a great team in the future but I think we need to worry about making the playoffs before we start hoping for consecutive titles. [IMG]

yeah you're right i was just thinking we had the makings of one, we haven't proven anything ywet and it will probly take a few years to even become any type of force, but i do think we need to let this teams identity be formed around the youth, g hill should provide veteran leadership as long as he lasts because that wouldf be great, I thinkthat next year havin francis will be find but keeping him after that is not the direction we need to go, turk is a good roll player and we definately need some good big men and some new young shooting guards but if we start moving in the direction of having no me first superstatr and let dwight become our duperstar and get some other great players we'll be a hell of a team

i agree. we don't need a superstar, we need a good leader. maybe trading francis right away won't be too good for the team right now, but in my opinion we shouldn't keep him for too long, it will just hold back the development of nelson and howard. the magic should build their team on their young players. maybe trade francis for a veteran 2-guard?

I wouldn't want a veteren shooting guard because by the time these guys are developed he would be ready to retire. I would like a player like Richard Hamilton or Joe Johnson. They are both the type of players who never worry about how many shots they get every game and have a team first mentality. They can also both hit the three and would fit into our offense. I'm not saying I want Johnson or Hamilton but players who have their same style would be a great fit and would put us into the playoffs.

The Magic doesn?t have a dynasty already, because Dwight Howard is not established yet. You never know, Dwight could have a terrible sophomore slump and so could Nelson. I must say that the future does indeed look bright, but I think it would have been better off if they found a way to persuade McGrady to come back and play for Orlando. I think Weisbrod was really the problem; he really turned T-Mac away from the Magic. If someone could have got Tracy to stay he finally would have had his right hand man in Grant Hill, back and playing well. He also would have had Nelson at point guard and Dwight Howard two more great additions. With that being said if the Magic could have some how kept their franchise together then they could have been a lot better off in the future in my opinion, sorry to bring up a flash back. Not to mention no team really has a dynasty until they start winning games, you can't have a dynasty off future potential.

I'm not blaming Weisbrod at all for any of the Tmac trade. Tmac had his highest possible value before the season started and he hadn't committed that he wanted to be a Magic for the rest of his career. Weisbrod did the right thing. If we tried trading him at the trading deadline, other teams would underball us and give us way worse then what we actually got, because it is either taking what they are offering or just let him go for free.(not gonna do that again after Shaq)

Also if Tmac was going to stay in Orlando, we would have drafted Okafor instead of Dwight, IMO. We needed instant impact, which Emeka was supposed to bring and Dwight wasn't. It's Tmac's fault, he saw that we drafted Dwight and Jameer, but he still wanted to leave. Honestly, I think we have a better chance at becoming a dynasty then the Rockets do right now.

You know what, one thing really scares me off. This is kind like a deja vu to me: Shaq and Penny, everybody thought we had a dynasty coming and years of success, now it is Jameer and Dwight. While I think the duo of Shaq / Penny was better and would've been better.

Also, I don't see Dwight and Jameer being great enough to become a Dynasty. We need the right pieces around them, and sorry to be bold but I don't trust our Management in this respect yet.

francis was by far the most consitent player during the last season for the magic. i dont understand why we would want to get rid of him... he is a proven threat. i also believe that deshawn showed a little bit of what he is capable of doing. He would be great coming off the bench for us. i think we addressed our biggest problem with fran. we really just need deshawn to be more productive on a consistent basis and he NEEDS to practice his free throws cuz they are pathetic. he can do EVERYTHING else. 3s, dunks, oops, jump shots. hes a very gifted player, i think he just needed some time and now he is beginning to finally shine. t-mac wasnt a star right away, i dont know if you guys realize that. oh yea... AND deshawn is young.
