Good call on grabbing Graham.
see? now this makes everyone who said raps were dumb by not picking granger look like eediots. i admit, i was hoping for granger too but good thing we didnt take him
werd^ and i was listenin to the swirsky show, and chuck said that neither green nor granger wanted to come to toronto
this is just a small injury though it will be okay in a few days he can play now and he wants to but the pacers are hesitant as thay know that having him in the long run is more important. and as for taking graham look at his score in the last few matches. not much to talk about.
Ok.. first off, learn to use some grammar and punctuation.. it'll make it a lot easier for others to understand your point. The thing about this is that the injury happened a LOT earlier. It didn't just happen now. It started in his college season this year, he only missed two games but he was forced to miss 2 weeks of pre-draft workout because the injury recurred. He then came back and worked out for teams again, and it seemed that everything was okay. But it came back again, and I believe it is the same left knee that has been troubling him. According to the article, he injured it in January and if it still hasn't healed after 6 months, to me that sounds like trouble.
We could pick Green... check out this move by Gerald Green: http://www.nba.com/media/celtics/green_dunk_320.mpg
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Proz4k:</div><div class="quote_post">We could pick Green... check out this move by Gerald Green: http://www.nba.com/media/celtics/green_dunk_320.mpg</div> I saw that dunk already, but that alone doesn't justify why we should have picked Green. We all knew he was a superfreak when it came to dunking, but can he do anything else in the NBA level? Does he want to play in Canada? Is he going to be a superstar or is he going to be a major bust? Is he mature enough? There's just so many question marks that follow his name. Don't worry, we'll see a plenty of nice dunks this upcoming season with CV / JG added to the mix.
C'Nova and Joey G had their had at some nice plays... even some acrobatic dunks. They even backed it up with some stats to go along with it! They will be a deadly duo by the end of summer league.

I don't care if he wants to play here or not- he's just a kid, and we are in a professional league, the decision isn't in his hands.

What happened to Vince Carter wouldn't have happened if the things were the way you describe.

He has a knee injury, that can heal. I wudda taken him over Charlie V anyday even tho he's a good player.

If you've seen him play you would see that he is much more than just a dunker.
First of all, the claims that these players didn't want to play in T.O. are greatly exaggerated. In a previous thread it someone showed that Green's family were happy about not being picked by the Raps. But Green himself is a grounded individual who had no problems about playing with the Raps. And Granger was also fine with TO. His reaction of wanting to be drafted by Indiana is understandable and doesn't mean that he would have bailed on us. They're both professionals. I believe Frye was the only one who didn't want to play for us, and nobody really wanted him anyway. I would of still picked Granger over Graham. The article stated that it wasn't an injury just a precaution after his surgery. He was expected to miss a few weeks after his surgery but came back after 2 or 3 days. That shows heart. He sacrificed and risked further injury for his team. And that injury during workouts wasn't his knee but a problem with his toenail. Honestly, his injury problems have been overblown and people seem to think that it justifies ignoring his ability.

His surgery was back in January when he missed those two games. It's been 6 months since the surgery and he still hasn't healed, so how is that overblown? I'd be more than concerned if I had a knee surgery for a torn ligament and it didn't heal for 6 months. He reminds me a lot of Alvin Williams.. A player with a lot of heart and passion but risks his career because he ignored doctor's advice and decided to play through injuries. I'm afraid that Granger aggrevated his left knee because he didn't take time off to heal it after the surgery, and participating in the pre-draft workouts didn't help either. I know he missed the workouts because he had an infection under the broken toe-nail, but don't you think it's a little too much of a co-incident that it's on the right foot and it got infected right after he came back from the surgery? In case you don't have any orthopedic knowledge, anytime you try to compensate for an injury on one leg, you tend to put more weight and stress upon the 'strong' leg. In other words, Granger was trying to compensate for the left knee by putting more weight onto the right leg, hence putting more weight and stress on the entire right foot, including his toes. I praise him for his 'warrior' like mentality but I honestly think that he would have been totally healed if he just rested for the two weeks that the doctor recommended.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinKanaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">Uh, no. Gerald Green is Rookie, 18 years old, what was happend if LeBron James didn't want to play for the Cavaliers ???
How is it not the same situation? The length of the time being in Toronto is irrelevant. If someone really didn't want to play for a team, he could demand a trade after one season. If the management doesn't grant his wish, then he will not likely play to the best of his abilities until he is traded. The point is, I'd rather have players that want to be here and will stay here for a long time than a player who doesn't clearly show his embrace for Toronto.
