..for Luke Jackson and a future Cavs 1st round pick. DraftExpress says Luke is about to go on the trading block. I still think he's going to be good and his passing would be a welcome addition. Not to mention the possible return of the Luke & Luke Connection. Not sure if Cleveland would do it since LeBron is a full-time SF now, but it's worth a try.

Thoughts? If you say it's a bad idea, you're wrong.

I don't think the Cavs will think that Divac is worth a 1st round pick. Especially after all that injury time, and he will be out of shape, etc.

Divac? It's Radmonovic. Divac is on the Lakers.

lol that's my bad, I went to new posts and thought it was Vlade Divac. Well in that case, I don't believe that the contracts will work out because Luke Jackson only makes 2 mill.

If Cleveland really wanted him, couldn't they just sign him? Radmonovic is an unrestricted FA I believe.

    I like it

It makes sense, the organization has said that they are trying to save money and well thats exactly what we get (not to mention a first round pick). The only problem is that I don't see clevelands need for a sf right now (since Lebron is at the 3). Maybe substitute AD for Radman. That makes more sense from a Cleveland standpoint.

Thoughts? If say it's a bad idea you're probably right.

Vlade would give the Cavs the shooter they need and I do like Luke's passing skills, but we would be giving up size and shooting for passing. The other question I would have is if Luke was any good on D.

According to ESPN Insider, Jamaal Magloire and Eddy Curry are possibilities if the Sonics were to sign and trade Vlade. Both of these would be great ideas if we are somehow able to pull them off. Both of those teams (Hornets and Bulls) have the cap room to house Radman and they both have young athletic centers in return.

Eddy Curry could be worth the gamble, but Magloire doesn't do much for me. But to be fair, Magloire's left leg would be better then the centers we have on lock right now.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Not only are the Sonics and Vladimir Radmanovic negotiating financial terms to secure his return next season, but the two sides are once again discussing what role he'll play if he does rejoin the team.

Vlad now makes it clear that he wants to be a starter or he's gone and we all know he will not be starting over Rashard Lewis next season...so bon voyage Vlade.

There are also some interesting tidbits in this article, these in particular...

    Interesting. Very interesting.

I want to know where he thinks he's going to go and start if he leaves Seattle.

Vlad can hope all he wants, but if the Sonics are hell-bent on keeping him then he is going to have to either sign a qualifying offer and play out the season or accept the fact that he'll be a reserve small forward (or start out of position).

Vlad is talented but not so talented that he'll command huge bucks or a starting role. I think that in extended minutes his faults would really show and I think that his best role in the league would be a sixth man role at both small and power forwards. It may not be best for his stat line or his bank account, but that is how he'd best help a team.

Vlad seemed like the only guy on the team last year who wasn't really supportive of the rest of the Sonics. There is a reason why in 2002 he was kicked off of the Serbian National Team in the World Championships in Indianapolis. For some reason he believes that he is entitled to much more than he's shown.

Luke Jackson and a first? Where do I sign?

Jackson unfortunately had his rookie season cut down by injuries, but anyone who saw him at Oregon knows he can shoot the lights out and fill the scoresheet up in a hurry. He'd be a great local kid to pair with Luke and have coming off the bench (especially if Flip goes), and you never know what can come of a first rounder.

I think we have to consider giving vlade what he wants....I mean his agent says if we give him 6 more minutes a game his rebounding rate will magically double....im impressed [IMG]

Seriously though this is an interesting situation. I dont think its completely outlandish to think that we will basically hand him a starting role. I mean the next most likely candidate to start is Nick Collision and realisitically I dont know if he can stay on the court more then 25 or so minutes a game anyways.

Latest is both New Orleans and Cleveland are interested in him - if the Cavs really do want him, I think Cas' idea of targetting Luke Jackson is a very good one. Local kid who can shoot the hell out of the basketball, and would be happy not playing a starting role in the near future.

Safe to say I'm not overjoyed with Vlad's attitude of late (or should that be his agent's attitude).

Good question. My guess is a mixture of both. Vlades agent has always seemed to be a very vocal one that tries to attract people to his situation. The only thing is it all seems so obvious..the house for sell asking for a max contract last summer...he just seems to have a pipe dream about Vlade and thinks he can convince others of that dream.

I think we should get rid of Vlad, if we sign him and hes not a starter, I think he'll just have a bad attitude through out the seasons that we have him.

Just try to sign and trade, but I still dont see Vlad as a starter, hes a 6th man type of guy.
