Surtain is a elite corner, he is a lot better than starks, Starks did horrible when went to Arizona. And the reason why the Titans didnt want Edge or Alexander is because the Titans dont have the money to pay those guys. Henry a lot lesser talent could be easly signed without shelling out tons of money
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tko51)</div><div class='quotemain'>wrong - Law is a chief smart guy.</div> Unless I've missed something, Law is still unsigned. Isn't Duane Starks now a Patriot? Surtain & Madison are both elite CB's. Clements is good. But, Elite? Did you go over Niagara falls sans barrel? Bailey & Woodson are arguably the most overhyped CB's ever & I am including D Sanders.</div> Compare Clements' stats to Surtains in the last two years - Clements has surpassed him - if Surtain is an elite corner in your eyes, then Clements better damn sure be - he's got more INTs, TDs, tackles. Yes, Duane Starks is a Pat. As far as Woodsun and Bailey being overhyped - you better put Surtain on that list.
STATS are just something written on paper. Clements has gotten burnt a lot as well. Surtain rarely gets burnt. Surtain has 11 INT's and 13 pass deflections. Clements has 9 INT's and 11 Pass deflections. So even if you want to throw out Stats Surtain is a better corner than Clements in the last 2 seasons.
that's not what I saw - maybe it was just last year's performances - I know for a fact that Clements' outplayed Surtain last year. As for Surtain rarely getting burned - I bet if you could ask him who his most hated adversary is in the AFC East - he'd say Moulds without second thought or hesitation. Moulds seems to always have his number.
Even though Moulds would line up on Sam Madison a lot as well. Glad of you to name one wideout to no surprise it's a Bills wideout. Also Surtain has made more of a name in the league than Clements so people won't throw his way as much. Surtain is a better corner than Clements. Except it.
Surtain is great. Clements is good. Surtain has proven he can do it year in and year out. Clements has had one good year.
I think you just get caught up in who's name you hear a lot. Clements has been good for a few years now. And Clements is just now hitting his prime. Unfortunately it won't surprise me to see him gone after this year - but our MO with CBs has been draft them, develop them and then watch them jet off for the bigger deal elsewhere (see Antoine Winfield). Fortunately we can franchise tag him at the end of the year because he was a first round pick (the same draft that we got Travis Henry in the second round of).
that's the opinion of a media brainwashed football fan. Maybe Surtain has a better reputation then clements because he's been in the league longer - I'll bet you by the end of both careers, Clements will be the better CB hands down. You think QBs like throwing to Clements' side when there's Terrence McGee on the other side? The only WR i've ever seen Clements struggle with was Randy Moss. See his performance against Chad Johnson - 1 catch 10 yards - Clements also picked off John Kitna while he tried to throw to Johnson.

Surtain has shut down many wideouts in his career as well. Who care about there careers. Surtain is the better corner RIGHT NOW. All corners struggle in the NFL. It's one of the most difficult posistions to play. So don't start thinking Moss is the only one that gave him trouble. Watch closely the Bills have given up more than 1 100 yard reciever in the last 5 years. You think people like throwing Sam Madison's way as well.

Clements. Ohio St. I have known about him for a while. He is in his prime right now as is Surtain who is still a top 3 corner in the NFL.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tko51)</div><div class='quotemain'>that's the opinion of a media brainwashed football fan.</div> Is that your excuse? All this time, I thought you were improvising or dare I say winging it - Buffalo style. :cheesey:
what ever, your opinion on Surtain is simply that AN OPINION - as is mine with Clements - I've seen Clements change the outcome of games as well as intercept and return all the way for a touchdown many times. Keep your opinion, I'll keep mine.
hey I understand its your opinion I just don't like how sometimes you start to factor in that he is a Bill and thats why he is so good. Clements is a solid corner and if he stays healhty he might emerge as a top 5 corner.
And it has nothing to do with him being a Bill - I acknowledge that LT is the best RB in the game (though I do sincerely feel that McGahee is capable of surpassing him) he's not a Bill though. But I think that Nate Clements has a chance to be a very special CB in this league - a Deion type - unfortunately it probably won't be in a Bills uniform. TKO is the best outside LB in the game - try to deny that - you can't. Try watching some Bills games this year - you will be impressed with Nate Clements.
When you start to hear me hype up Aaron Schobel you can say it's just because they wear a Bills uniform. Schobel is solid and would be a starter on many teams, but the guy can't hold a candle to Julius Peppers or Dwight Freeny.
you know how you(TKO) was taking about clements holding chad johnson to 1 catch, well the browns defense help Chad Johnson to 3 rec and 37 yards on oct 17th. Those arent big numbers by a pro bowl reciever, and the browns defense isnt that good.
maybe it had something to do with the division rivalry - division rival games usually are harder to win because the teams don't like each other.
remember It was an off the Bench Kitna throwing that day, Don't get me wrong I love John Kitna but he was rusty from sittin the bench all year. Kelley Washington and T.J Houshmenzadeh had a comibined 8 Catches for 103 yards 4 catches each, and Chad had two himself but for only 10 yards, but he lost his abillity to go up and get the deep ball due to Kitna's arm strength. I say the outcome may have been different if Carson was there but we'll never know.
