<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(July 13, 2005) -- The Toronto Raptors announced today that first-round draft picks Charlie Villanueva and Joey Graham sustained minor injuries in the recent Summer Pro League in Los Angeles and are expected to be withheld from competition in the upcoming Minnesota Summer League. Villanueva has a strained right groin and Graham a strained right calf. Both players will remain with the team in Minnesota (through July 19) where they will receive treatment from the club?s medical staff. The Raptors open play in the Minnesota Summer League on Friday when they face the New York Knicks. </div> Source Well that sucks. But it's pretty ironic considering we supposedly didn't draft Granger because of his injuries.

At least we got to see what they can do and got an idea of what kind of players they are. Granger's situation is different because he's been injured since January and it didn't heal yet. Read my thread on Granger's injury.

I got the groin strain from playing 4 intense games over 2 days and it slowly went away after a week or two. Granger has a more serious injury because it involves the knee not merely a muscle strain.

I was looking forward to the match-up between Granger / Graham on July 15th but I guess we'll have to wait until the season starts.
I was just joking about the Granger thing. But it's obviously not a big deal. Probably happened because they haven't played competitively in such a while. Better to be safe than sorry.
