5 year deal? So that means Jay-rome will start turning it on in the 2010-2011 season [IMG]

During the playoffs I made a guarantee to a friend of mine that the knicks were gonan throw $$$ at Jerome James. As for why the Knicks can do this its because they are using their mid-level-exception I believe. VERY glad Seattle didnt match this...NY is a bunch of idiots....5 years..u gotta be kiddin me.

Not a big surprise. His physical talents made him an asset, but he was far from consistent. I wonder if the Sonics will look into resigning Vitaly now.

Knicks fans are going to hate JJs inconsistency, he will probably be bashed by the sports media over there..If he plays like he does half his career[minus the Kings series].

29 and getting a 5 year deal..Wow Knicks management keep showing me how retarded they are with every move they make.

No big surprise. MLE nabs another overpriced, underperforming big for the Knicks. Ewing was their last great center for as far out as I can see.

I'm disappointed to see Big Game James go but there is no way in the world that I'd feel comfortable giving him a 5 year 29 million dollar deal.

I still think he is one of the better centers in the league but he is too inconsistent to get that lucrative a deal. Had he been willing to take another 3 year deal for 17 million I would have love to keep him but 5 guaranteed years for BGJ seems a bit much.

I guess the words salary cap and luxury tax has does not apply to New York franchises. Isiah Thomas and Billy King are killing the reputation of all current and future minority front office employees.

Pretty much agree on all points.

Barkley said something like 'Isaiah is building a championship team. Too bad it's in San Antonio'

^ Yeah he said that when they traded Nazir Mohammad for an old Malik Rose..SMH.

That was a dumb trade for a team who desperately needed a center.

I really hope this works out for the Knicks but lol this might be this years Brian Cardinal....I'm still trying to figure out why the grizz gave him all that money...He looks like someone who wears knee pads and goes rollerblading for fun!

This deal reminded me a lot of when Larry Brown from the Dallas Cowboys got a huge deal after he had a big game in the Superbowl intercepting Neil O'donnel two times and was named MVP. He cashed in on his one good game and disappeared for the most part after that.

Yeah, they got Malik Rose who happens to be just as good or better than Nazr, and they also got two first round draft picks. One of them turned out to be David Lee who I'm sure will turn into a better player than Nazr ever was. They also have a first rounder next year, too. The funny thing about it is the Knicks had a better winning percentage with Malik than they had with the almighty Nazr. Considering those facts, hopefully you realize it wasn't a dumb trade at all.

Although I think The Knicks are completely stupid with nearly everything they do..I actually agree with that...I thought that was a pretty decent trade for them...not quite as impressed with Nazr as everyone else is.

They were still under .500 anyway..Like the Knicks couldnt develop Nazr into a better player than Malik Rose..Malik is getting old and aging, and if they kept Nazr they woulda had a big who was young, for their future. But instead they traded him off for an old undersized PF, Malik Rose...O yeah and then go sign an old inconsistent Jerome James. [IMG]

    Nazr - 9 PPG, 7 RPG, 1 BPG
    Malik - 7 , 4, .21

Yeah, just as good..maybe better?..I dont think so lol.
So yea, I still think its a pretty dumb trade. [IMG]

the part of the trade that makes it semi even I think is the 1st round draft picks....of course those are just gonan be late late 1st rounders....to bad NY didnt work out a deal that would allow for SA to make the picks for them [IMG]
