<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ST. PAUL, Minn. ? Doctors told Minnesota guard Fred Hoiberg that his recovery would be painful. So he didn't think much about it when he was released from the hospital July 6 and felt terrible his first day at home after surgery to remove an aortic aneurysm. Then he climbed the stairs, blacked out and collapsed. His wife, Carol found her husband on the floor. "I had a pool of blood on my chin," Hoiberg said yesterday at Target Center, where he addressed the media for the first time since his surgery June 28. "It was probably as scary a moment as I've had in my life." That night after he fell, Hoiberg returned to the hospital. At Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., doctors implanted a pacemaker, which he will have for the rest of his life to ensure that his heart beats properly. Even with the pacemaker, Hoiberg, 32, possibly could resume playing basketball, doctors said. Hoiberg will miss a significant portion, if not all, of the 2005-06 season.</div> Source
