Apparently Samuel Dalembert is staying in Philly for 6 years and around 70-75 Million. No link, but I got it from another forum, and I think it's from the NY Post.
Well that is great news. He has developed into a great young centre and has a bright future with us. We need him and Allen Iverson loves playing with him. If Mo Cheeks can utilise him better than Jim O'Brien did, look for serious stats from this guy!!
That is quite a contract, Dalembert had better be stepping it up throughout those six years. I'm not worried though because once he got consistent playing time last year he was playing very well. Glad to have him back in Philly though.
Best news this off-season so far. Now all we have to do is focus on Willie and K squared. Good to see Sammy back in Philly. That's a large contract for Dalembert though, he better develop into something nice.

Wow, with both James and Dalembert off the open market, Curry and Chandler's prices are going up...the ridiculous contracts continue and look to get even worse. Well, who am I to talk with the way my Bucks are throwing money around, right? This is money pretty well spent for the Sixers, though, as Dalembert is a youngster who is athletic and fits well with a lot of what they're trying to do. And he's a good defensive presence at a young age, which is always valuable.
Sweet, I'm excited. I just hope he can live up to expectations and his potential. However, Dalembert is a hard worker and seemed to play really well during the playoffs- leading the league in rebounds and setting a defensive presence for the team. Also, when he was given the chance and minutes, Dalembert shined. The only thing that would be keeping Dalembert from good minutes this year would probably be being to aggressive annd going into foul trouble. Other than that, the future looks bright.
Dalembert sure does have the potential, but who else thinks that the amount of money that piles to $10 million per season should be reserved for franchise players? Dalembert is not a franchise player.
This is great news. Other than Shaq there aren't too many really good centers in the East. Dalembert is going to be special and is young. We needed to lock him up and he needs to play just like he did in the playoffs. Remember he still put up some numbers despite having O'Brien who had 0 confidence in him. Mo Cheeks will do a better job, he had a big man in Zach Randolph is Portland and had him put up big numbers.

What could have happpened is a team offered him money like maybe the Hawks and it went un reported once the 76ers found out that somone was going to offer him a smilar deal they just basically gave him the same or a better offer and he agreed upfront.

Its hard to find good quality centers these days and the sixers just locked one up for 6 years.
Yea this helps the sixers front court greatly. It's getting no older with Webber and Jackson, but they lock up a great youngster who can really play.

70 to 75 millions is too much for a guy who hasn't put up consitant stats and gotten much minutes.Potential makes money in the league now,not skills but Id rather pay this kind of money to Sam than Adonal Foyle.Fans can only hope that Dalembert will put up stats like he did against the Pistons.
