<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver Post - Denver has chosen not to buy out guard Voshon Lenard's $3.52 million contract. Lenard, the 2004 NBA 3-point champion has averaged 12.2 points in 10 NBA seasons and could have been bought out for $250,000. "We're very excited to bring Vo back," Vandeweghe said. "He's been one of my favorite players. He's a guy who comes to play every night. He's a workhorse. It hurt us to not have him with us last season. I thank (owner) Stan (Kroenke) for bringing him back because it's a financial commitment." Lenard's agent Joel Bell said his client worked out for the Nuggets on Thursday morning in Las Vegas during a summer league practice. Vandeweghe said Lenard received a positive evaluation from team doctors, which included a recent MRI test. "We're very comfortable with it," Vandeweghe said of Lenard's health.</div> Source
The Nuggets need Lenard?s three point capabilities to equalize their roster. With out him they really lacked an outside shooter and that hurt them throughout the 04-05 season. Hopefully for Denver this season Lenard will stay healthy.
Pretty good move they dont need his 3 point shot but it helps much. I said they dont need it because they found theyre way around last season when he was injured. But never-the-less having a player that can hit 3's is always good.
This is really good for the Nuggets. they didn't really have many shooters last season. But now they have voshon back.
You're wrong, they do NEED him. Without him good teams like the spurs collapse the inside, and beat the Nuggets in the first round.
Im saying its good for the nuggets that hes staying but me saying they dont NEED him was simply just because they can still make the playoffs without him.
They do NEED his 3 point shooting, because nobody else can shoot. They basically got swept in the first round, and great shooting can take the Nuggs over the hump... so they really do need shooting.

But hopefully for Denver, Lenard stays healthy down the road.
yeah I think the Nuggets missed Lenard's 3-point eye more than they realized last season...he gives them a much needed sniper to draw attention away from Melo and K-Mart...
no they shouldn't keep him even though i'm love the nuggets hes getting to old so they either release him or trade him
