Ryan Gomes- 16 pts., 7 boards Great game by Allen, but Gomes was our most consistent player throughout the summer league.
Funny that Voodoo Child doesn't come in here and say anything when Gomes has a good game. Coincedince?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting playmaker31:</div><div class="quote_post">Green, but he has done very well.</div> He has? Averaging 6 points a game is very well? I love Green and I already got his jersey but I don't think he did "very well" in summer league. Ryan Gomes did awesome in every game putting up the same numbers 15 and 8 like every game.
Green Drop Finale <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS - In the end there was a Celtics loss amid much arguing with the officials about calls. No, this wasn't about Game 7 against Indiana; rather a 73-69 fall to Detroit in the Reebok Vegas Summer League finale yesterday. In a departure from earlier in their 4-2 run through the circuit here, the Celts had more failed dunks than successes in this one. ``I think it was typical of the NBA experience,'' assistant coach Dave Wohl said. ``This was our fourth game in five days. Guys were tired. What you have to do in that situation is fight through the fatigue, and I thought we really tried to do that. (The Pistons) were up on us, but we kept coming back and making it a close game.'' Tony Allen was most of the Celtics offense with 29 points, while Ryan Gomes added 16 (before getting two staple-stitches removed from his head in the medical room). Kendrick Perkins [news] and Al Jefferson were plagued by fouls all game, and while the former was able to hit his three shots from the floor, Jefferson made just 1-of-8 and produced a measly two points. </div> Source
This is going to be an explosive season for Tony Allen. I know AL Jefferson is "the franchise" and he may well be at some point but Tony Alllen is going to BLOW UP (in a good way) for the celtics this year. He will make the all-defensive team or at least the 2nd team and prove himself to be an offensive force as well. Borderline all star this year and you can say the same thing minus the "borderline" for subsequent years
