<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Heat's coaching situation remained in question Friday, as the team for the second straight day declined to comment on a report that president Pat Riley would return to the sideline, replacing Stan Van Gundy. Riley has not commented publicly since Jack Ramsay said Thursday that he expects Riley to return to coach. Ramsay said on ESPN that he's ''pretty certain'' Riley will return to the sideline and reiterated his belief off the air. Two other associates of Riley, including a high-ranking member of the organization, said they believe Riley has been strongly considering a return to the Heat's bench. There's uncertainty throughout the organization if Riley will coach, and that extends to the roster and the assistant coaching staff, several sources said.</div> Source

I also think for some reason that he want's to coach so he and Zo can get that title together.

Only to return after he rights the ship (which Pat Riley had his own hand in, of course, and we all know that), and take his spot. Riley should sit tight and know that everyone respects his decision to do so. We all know he was once a great coach, and now we know that he is a front office man worth his salt and not afraid to do what it takes to get his man and win a championship. There's a small window here, but the only reason the window is even there is Stan Van Gundy. The man who guided that lackluster bunch of misfits to a wonderful showing in the playoffs, despite barely cracking .500 in the regular season, and showing them how to win. Then Riley worked his magic and got Van Gundy a team that was a favorite to win everything. And were it not for Wade's ribs, he would have, or had a good shot at it anyway. Seems like kind of a disrespectful way to let a guy know you appreciate doing a better job than you in a spot you held for eight years.
