anyone have an update on him? he's been pretty quiet in the FA market. i expected teams like the hawks to take a look at him, but i havent heard anything. does anyone have an update?
To be honest I haven't heard of a lot of interest in Korver in the free agent market. I know in the Bucks showed some interest during the season in fear of losing Redd but they signed Redd and added onto that by signing Bobby Simmons. I know the Heat will probably make their run at Korver but I am almost sure that we'll match their offer.
so i guess its pretty safe to say that korver's gonna be a sixer next season? i guess hes interest dropped because of the horrible playoff series he had against detriot.
All I know that he's taking part in Basketball without borders-Asia and I don't know anything about someone trying to sign him. Playing badly against Detroit hasn't dropped his value,on other teams he would be coming off the bench so he could still hit 3-4 threes.
I haven't heard anything on Korver at all, but when you think about it that?s good, although I don't like him as the 76ers starting forward he can definitely provide instant offense off the bench.
I would not consider him a lock to return yet at this point. The reason his phones have not really been busy is due to the statements made by Billy King that he intends to match any offer made towards Green, Dalembert, and Korver. Sammy is still getting some calls, but even in his case you see that it is only the Hawks who seem interested, because they are really the only team with the cap room to offer him any type of salary that King would not think twice about matching. Korver is also not at the top of this year?s free agent crop the need for a big man has really overwhelmed many teams this off-season, and has become a primal concern for all NBA franchises. I think after Swift, Dalembert, Curry, and Chandler are off the market the phone calls should pick up for Korver. Kyle really does not offer teams what they are looking for early in free agency. He is a good shot, but nothing much else. His defense is equal to par, but nothing special as is the rest of his game.
Yeah I agree, he can't make his own shot and it discourages alot of teams. He is also a average defender to play the SF postition, where so many good players are, and can't handle the ball too well, which prevents him from playing the 2 guard alot. I think we will get him fairly cheap, I read Miami might go after him, but I think he is better suited to come off the bench. If we sign Marshall I think Korver becomes 6th man.
Dude.....Korver's defense is so underated. I'm pretty some of you guys watch Sixers game. His defense has improved A LOT. Remember how he gets all the loose balls and little taps? He's not a Iggy type defender but he is definitely already an average defender.

He gets hustle plays which is great, but look at small forwards on teams who have gone far in the playoffs Bruce Bowen, Shawn Marion, Ron Artest, Trenton Hassel, Tayshaun Prince, Andres Nocioni, all those guys are often guarding the best player on the opposing team. They are asked to do that on daily bases. A few seasons ago when George went down for the Lakers in the playoffs and as did Fox they asked Kobe to play small forward against the Spurs, but he could not even get used to how much energy he exerted trying to guard and produce offensively. A lot of contenders often look for established defensive small forwards. Which is why I do not think he is getting many offers.

I don't understand.
Yea....I was gonna say shutting down the other team's star is Iggy's job, the SF and SG position isn't that much different anyway.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting B-22:</div><div class="quote_post">If thats always the case then how come Andre Iguodala started at guard while KOrver started at sf at times throughout the season? I don't understand.</div> It?s do to the fact that the small forward is often found at the wing of the offense, and is the first player left open when a double team occurs to Allen or Webber which means basically he will have a wide open shot. In reality though in my mind I see Igoudala as a small forward not a shooting guard. He really does not handle the ball enough yet at this point to be a shooting guard. If he improves his shot or even if he does not and we get a good sized two guard I think we will start Igoudala at the small forward slot. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting iversonfan3:</div><div class="quote_post"> Yea....I was gonna say shutting down the other team's star is Iggy's job, the SF and SG position isn't that much different anyway.</div> Which is why our system worked last year, but I was addressing why other teams have not had much interest in him.
