<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">YOU COULDN'T help thinking of Vince Carter yesterday as you listened to Steve Nash talking about his new charity exhibition game.

    It's natural enough.

The league's reigning MVP was in town yesterday to promote a July 29 contest at the Air Canada Centre that will include Allen Iverson, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion and Michael Finley as well as Raptors Rafer Alston and Chris Bosh and Morris Peterson.

That charity game was Carter's annual public show of keeping it real.

    Now Nash is the guy.

Yesterday brought the requisite photo-op, a mini-clinic for a bunch of youngsters at Bathurst and Queen's Quay, and a good many attentive Nike people on hand to oversee the donation of $100,000 worth of stuff to local kids.

About the time Nash told the players the best part of the game was sharing the ball with teammates and that he often battles fragile confidence, the differences between the new guy and the gone guy began to gnaw at you.

Look, this isn't to pile a few final grains of dirt on Carter, honestly it isn't. It's just that a year ago at his game, Carter kept a pile of media waiting 15 minutes while he finished a game of HORSE, then jacked around his fans by refusing to admit to his trade request. </div>

thats true, Nash really actually cares for charity work, i think Carter only had that game to hang with his friends and show-off

And its great to see Allen Iverson coming up to Toronto to play

but what really matters is that steve nash's wife is hotter than vince's. somebody needs to post a pic. of her; in fact, why doesn't someone devote an entire thread to her.

I know he said that he wasn't piling up dirt on VC but c'mon, the guy is just taking cheap shots at him. Just b/c VC isn't as charismatic or as nice a guy as Nash doesn't mean that his charity games didn't mean a lot to him.

Mike Ulmer (the writer) brought up last year's charity game and how he snubbed the media, but it's understandable why he did it. He had a charity game and all the media cared about that day was whether or not he wants to stay w/ the Raptors. You couldn't expect him to be happy w/ reporters in a situation like that.

LOL, her name is Alejandra Amarilla so try searching that up.

Hopefully everybody shows up for this game and I think that they will since it's for the MVP Steve Nash. Did they release a full roster?

The game seems really impressive, and a lot more bigger names than Carter's charity games.

I really think Carter isn't a very good person at heart, but Nash really is. You can just tell, seeing how sincere he is, modest.. and all that. He's just overall such a good person, a great person to represent Canada Basketball.

I know some of us depise Carter, but come on, why are people still taking cheap shots at him? How can you say Carter isn't a good person at heart when you don't even know him? Come on people, Vince is the past, the good and bad times from him are long gone, lets just focus on a hopefully good future with Chris Bosh and co.

Seems like Nash can attract better players than Vince ever did with his charity game.

That is exactly what I saw when I first looked at the list of players...

Vince usually had like 2 stars, him and some no names.

Nash = A.I, Amare, Q, JJ, Marion, and so many big names... can't wait to see this game go down!

    re

I think Nash is able to get so many big names cuz he commands their respct. Vince really wasn't able to do that cuz of his reputation in the league.

Another guy that I wanna see up here is JYD, I think at heart he would really enjoy participating in the game.

<u>When is it, and can I still buy some tickets?</u>

I'm pretty sure it's this weekend coming up, the 23rd... not 100% though.

Go to ticketmaster.ca to see if there are tickets available... there could be some last minute nose bleeds still open.

Well he does have more stars coming, but almost all of the people that VC invited were his close NBA pals.
