<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ricky Sanchez was the youngest player in the Vegas Summer League. It showed. The Denver Nuggets rookie forward turned 18 last week. With six games awaiting against the toughest opposition he has seen, he didn't take time out to party in Las Vegas. Sanchez said at times he felt "a little down" about his play. But the Nuggets had no qualms giving him big minutes, especially when he started the final two games after coming off the bench in the first four. Sanchez had a decent outing Thursday, totaling seven points and five rebounds in 36 minutes against Phoenix. As for Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, let's just say it wasn't as encouraging. Sanchez scored two points on 1-for-6 shooting and had one rebound and nine fouls (legal in summer play) in 27 minutes. The Nuggets lost 94-78 to the Clippers to finish 3-3. "It's a very difficult situation," Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said after Thursday's game. "He's going against guys that have been through college and some guys who have been in the pros for a number of years. The more he can play, the more he can be around these type of guys is a good experience. And also mature physically. He can be a very interesting player in a couple years." How the 6-foot-11, 205-pound Sanchez would perform was one of the most intriguing questions facing the Nuggets in the Vegas Summer League. The reviews weren't glowing, but that is understandable given his youth. </div> Source
