<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"The way things stand, Marcus Banks would back up West, though rumors began to circulate in Las Vegas that Boston will trade the third-year player. Banks was the odd man out when it came to summer league play because the Celtics were limited to three non-rookie roster players and decided on Al Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, and Tony Allen, by virtue of the fact they averaged the fewest minutes last season. West and Reed did not count against the Celtics' number of non-rookies because of their extensive time on the injured list last season. Still, Banks worked out with the summer league team and attended a handful of games in his hometown. He plans to train with Gary Payton at some point this summer."

"According to Antoine Walker's agent, Mark Bartelstein, there are 10 teams ''seriously looking at doing something" to acquire the veteran power forward. Translation: The Celtics and Bartelstein are looking for a sign-and-trade partner. Bartelstein characterized interested teams as contenders ''who feel Antoine is a guy who can put them over the top." Bartelstein disagreed with reports the Celtics were having trouble generating interest in Walker. ''We're just having a whole lot of conversations," said Bartelstein."

"According to an Eastern Conference source, the most likely scenario would be to work a three-way deal with a team that has cap space. Look for Charlotte, New Orleans, or Atlanta to possibly become involved, with Walker being shipped to a contending team in the East. The team with cap space would receive a player of equal value and Boston would end up with a draft choice, so as not to take on more salary and head into luxury-tax territory."</div>

I personally think you have to keep Banks at the VERY least another year, the man has not had sufficient opportunity to prove himself as a gamer, and for his salary, deserves that chance. Aside from that, what do we stand to gain from trading him? A second rounder and some serviceable veteran? Why bother, we'll lose money on the deal, cap space, and the chance at developing a decent young point guard. And with how rare good defensive point guards are, what's the point? Have him do some more work with GP in the offseason, and let's see what happens.

That whole ream of bullcrap from Bartelstein is just plain ridiculous. There aren't five teams in the league that want anything to do with Walker, nevermind ten teams that are "looking to do something." And what does that even mean? This coming from a guy who makes up trade rumors just so teams will take notice of him. That there is an agent that knows how to do his job, but nevertheless, I guess ethics aren't involved.

Anyway, the C's have to play wait and see with him anyway, so why stress about it? Bartelstein can sit there in fantasy land and make up rumors and Danny will proceed to have the best offseason the C's have had since last year, which was the best in ten years.

    IN DANNY I TRUST!
