July 15- Indiana l Box Score July 16- Milwaukee l Box Score July 17- Minnesota l Box Score July 18- New York l Box Score July 19- Toronto l Box Score I'll keep this thing updated. So far Badiane has been doing pretty good. Head meanwhile hasn't exploded like I thought he would but it might just be that he needs more time to find his rhythm in the games- plus he hasn't been given too much playing time anyway.
Oh yeah! 2-0! Head hasn't been too impressive, but i'm not too worried yet, Badiane played well in the second game but not very well against Indiana (Mind you he only played 19 min) Also who is this Lonny Baxter? He's played quite well in both games.. I'll try and post video highlights tonight... Edit: Game 1 Highlights posted. Edit x2: Game 2 Highlights posted. Edit x3: Game 3 Highlights posted. Pretty much a typical journeyman. Take the summer league for what its worth- its pretty much meaningless. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'll try and post video highlights tonight... Oh ok, I just read up a bit about him on the Houston Chronicle, also Game 3 is up, we won that too! http://www.nba.com/media/timberwolves/jul17_hou-min_.pdf Luther finally played a decent game, he finished with 17 points! Lonny had 31 (8/12 from the field and 15/19 from the line) Dion got his points, but was horrible from the field (2/10) the majority of points came from free throws (13/18) he ended the night with 17 (At least we know he can get to the line). We won 85-79 <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Take the summer league for what its worth- its pretty much meaningless.</div> I guess, but i've got nothing else to follow and it does give us some idea of what we're getting in Head..
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Glover outclasses competition Guard/forward, hoping to return to NBA, dominates in summer league By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle MINNEAPOLIS - Dion Glover was living at the line for the Rockets' summer league team when point guard Joe Crispin walked over to assistant head coach Tom Thibodeau and said: "He can't cover him at all. There's no way." This was praise. But Glover might have found no compliment in being unguardable in a summer tournament built for draft picks and dreamers. These were dues he had paid and ground he had covered. But here he was back in another summer league, trying to impress another team enough to get to training camp and play his way back into the NBA. Lonnie Baxter knew how he felt. Baxter, a forward/center, had seemed every bit the NBA player with the Bulls. He had not done as much for as long as Glover, but his days in the summer leagues seemed over. But there they were. So Glover blew past former Westbury Christian forward Ndudi Ebi until he seemed as out of place as Al Pacino doing summer stock. Baxter, 6-8, 260, overwhelmed the Timberwolves' summer-team frontcourt. And with Glover scoring 11 of his 17 points in the first half and Baxter pouring in 25 of his 31 in the second half, the Rockets beat the Timberwolves 85-79 on Sunday as their veterans looked to bigger and better things with the real team.</div> This is what (EDIT- Eh ehm) D-Mac's talking about
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">This is what Dan Le's talking about</div> Eh ehm, please refer to my sig Lol, no need for the last name, anyway yeah that was the article I read, they didn't mention Head at all, which suprised me since he had his best Summer League game...
I'm pretty disappointed with badiane and Head. Badiane has one more game, and if he doesnt impress, i would tell him to hit the road. We want him for rebounding, shot blocking, and defense. He doesnt show much talent in these categories. Head has been okay, but he isnt in the direction to play on our rotation this year. Lonny Baxter and dion glover are looking good. We should sign them, and stick in the rotation as backups to TMAC. They should get about 10 min a night there and bring a lot more than bowen can. What you guys think about that?
Now that the Summer League is over, I must say, I'm pretty surprised. Head and Badiane haven't really been impressing me- they're way too inconsistent and haven't been able to produce enough numbers in a short amount of time. Although Baxter and Glover have put up some nice numbers, I really don't think they will contribute that much to the team. We already have too many guards so I doubt Glover would even break into the lineup. Baxter meanwhile is a big IF, but he tires out too easily and isn't a high energy player which is what we need to backup McGrady.
