Marshall was on the Raptors man, who else is going to shoot? It was like Crawford with the Bulls before, JC shot cuz no one else could. Marshall is a good all around player and he broke the 3pt's made record last year right (or maybe tied it..i don't know). Marshall coming off the bench would be huge for the Cavs. 6th man of the year for sure.

Why do all the Cav fans hate Gooden? He played pretty good for you guys last season. The guy was a monster on the offensive glass, and in every game I saw him play (which were about 12-15) he had a solid midrange jumper with great percentages. He ran the floor well for a ton of dunks, and he was a good passer out of the post. Though his defense lacked a bit, he was a good shot-blocker. And BTW, even though Donyell has long arms and can block decently, most scouts will say he's a sub-par defender down-low, and pretty bad on the perimeter.

There's nothing wrong with a deep team.. If signing Marshall will push Gooden to play harder and improve his shortcomings, then all the better..

Does it matter who'll start between the two? I'm not sure it does.. The greatest thing about Marshall is that he'll definitely stretch the defense.. He's money from the corners..

And seriously.. Stop the hating on Gooden.. He's definitely a lot better than you guys give him credit for.. You're all just 'glass-is-half-empty' bastards lol.. Besides, he's definitely a bargain at 4 mil right now..

yeah, i dont know why you guys hate gooden so much. he basically averaged a double double last season, and he's young and cheap.

This is a good pick up for the Cavs-I still can figure out what the Cavs are going to do with Hughes-The Cavs will regret that move-The Cavs are making moves but they will still finish behind the Pistons, and the Pacers in the central-They are on the 6 or 7th best team in the East

I'm not sure how well he'll mesh w' LeBron either.. But you know.. I'm an optimist.. I think it'll work out better than most people expect.. Anytime you can add thoroughbreds to ur team, you do it.. I don't think his game's polished in any one area like Allen or Redd (shooting), but he does so many things decently well that he'll definitely be a good impact..

great signing for the cavs...with this signing, the Hughes signing, and the signing of sarunas, it will have been a GREAT offseason for them...Marshall gives them experience, shooting and rebounding...great move by the cavs...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting playmaker31:</div><div class="quote_post">Hmm...a top team in the east? I'd put Miami, Indiana, Detroit, and maybe New Jersey over them right now. Marshall is good but he won't take them to the top, and Saras hasn't proven he's ready for the NBA so their probably the the 5-6 best team in the east.</div>

Top team meaning ONE of the best, the Cavs will be very good next season and will give the Pistons, Pacers and Heat alot of problems. Mainly in a playoff series.

Saras has more than proved enough that he can play in the NBA. He was the one that destroyed the US in the olympics. Has been the best player un europe for several seasons and is very experienced. He should have no problem adusting to the NBA game. Donyell Marshall isn't going to take them over the top but he will really help their outside shooting which was their downfall last year.

Lebron James may well be the 2nd best player in the eastern conference If not the best for next year. He is going to keep improving and keep adding more range. They have the pieces to contend in the east. Him and Larry Hughes could be a deadly duo.

Cavs as It stands right now to me are the 4th best team in the east. Who knows they may give the main 3 a run for their money If Lebron keeps improving the way he Is.

    PG - Jasikevicius
    SG - Larry Hughes
    SF - LeBron James
    PF - Donyell Marshall
    C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas

That's a great starting lineup. Cavs should make the playoffs easily if they don't have a major injury.

The rumor of gooden being traded for reggie evans and another player or a pick sounds more appealing now with marshall aboard. Evans and Marshall splitting time at PF would be a great fit. IMHO.

Hughes adds alot of flexability to our team, now there will several guys on the team who can run (pg, sg, sf).

Can't wait for the season to start (hoping Jaric signs)

    HMMMM.........

u have a PG who does`nt even play for the cavs???????

A 2 guard who`s just GOT PAID and will revert back to his usual bad d/too many 3`s style

    lebron is legit no doubt!

marshall is a SF playing PF, he is slow, has bad D and is`nt getting any better,he can shoot well though

Ilgauskaus is tall but i very much doubt he can play 82 games without getting hurt again

Duh genius, of course Jasikevicius isn't on the Cavs. I posted that 7 days ago when he was rumored to go there. [IMG] Hughes going back to his old ways? We'll see when the season starts, we can't judge him yet. Marshall is a SF? Hell no. Imagine Marshall guarding Richard Jefferson, Carmelo Anthony, Shawn Marion etc. He would be burned big time. And obviously, you havn't watched Marshall, because he does NOT have bad defense. He is a solid defender and a great help defender. I don't even know where you came up with that. Big Z is a huge part of this team, and will be a key. BTW, not many Centers play 82 games anymore anyway, so as long as he plays at least 72-75, that would be fine for the Cavs.

Z has only missed 5 games in the past three seasons. A couple of those games were missed from suspensions, not injuries. Z has been one of the healhiest starting big men in the league the last few years.
