<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">St. Paul Pioneer Press - According to St Paul Pioneer Press writer Rick Alonzo, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said Monday that team officials have not talked to free agent Latrell Sprewell's representative about a new contract.

    Don't expect that to change.

"We made an offer last year, and he said it wasn't enough," Taylor said, referring to a three-year, $21 million proposal that Sprewell turned down. "So we haven't pursued it."

Sprewell said he was insulted by the offer last season and that he had a family to feed.

Taylor wouldn't rule out Sprewell returning. But with no talks taking place between the parties, that prospect remains unlikely.</div>

This was expected since he is demanding so much money. Then again, he does have a family to feed. [IMG]

I was a HUUUUGGGEEE Sprewell fan.....until he made those statements. Those are the kind of things that you just don't say "Why should I help them win?". He went into the unforgivable in my estimation. I was even willing to give him another chance.....but when you make a statement like that....it just weighs on you. Say what you want, but Sam was getting pretty close to that realm in my also. In his interviews, you can hear that he's mad because he isn't "The One" in Minnesota. I still rank Sam as one of the top points I'd like to have in Minnesota's scheme, but he has started to show his age and injuries.

Yah, he (Sprewell) and Shaq need to play for the same team... Thats ridiculous; GOT TO FEED MY FAMILY... I guess he's just going to have to settle for Gladstones instead of the 5 star restaurants that he and his family have been eating for the past few years... And most of all, he's goiong to have to buy that 5.0 million dollar house as apposed to the 7.0 million he was looking at.... I mean, how's a man supposed to live???? I guess he's just going to have to tough it out.... A 5 million dollar slum is rough but you got to survive; na-mean?????

Can I be part of that family? 20 million for 3 years is not enough for me either...

Now now, don't be so rough on Spree... what if his money isn't enough to feed his kids, BECAUSE all they eat is the best caviar available?! Huh huh. That's all they eat or else they'll die because it's a rare type of disease. You've got to calculate all the variables guys.

Now back to reality. Good riddance Spree, hope you retire.

I normally stick up for players, but Sprewell pretty much put him self in a hole. However, I think he can still contribute in the right situation.

Also, I read somewhere Sprewell would like to go to the Nuggets and rejoin Camby becase they were teammates when the Knicks went to the finals. I guess he would be a last resort if the Nuggets can't find a shooter in Free Agency.

I doubt any team really wants him. Nuggets i guess is possible but like Bobcats said only if they cant find any other shooters. by da way last time i checked 21 million dollars is enough to feed a family but i guess im worng

Any fan could have seen this from a mile away. By drafting Mccants and Wright the T'Wolves addressed the shooting guard position for the future, and would have no need for keeping Sprewell aboard. I am shocked that Sprewell turned down a three year 21 million dollar contract either, he's crazy if he thinks he can get something better then that.

I think that Spree would fit well in Miami, he won't go out of line because Shaq will put him in his place. Nuggets won't move Melo to the 2 and Spree isn't a 2 so I odn't see that happening. Spewell would start in Miami at the 3 giving us more depth on the bench with Eddie Jones, however with Jones on the bench, Miami has only 1 great defender on the floor in Haslem and a good one in Wade.

I think he was being sarcastic but Shaq isn't too great of a defender anyway, good but not great.
