<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that free agent forward Chris Crawford will work out for the team on Wednesday, July 20. The 6-9, 235-pound Crawford has spent his entire career with the Atlanta Hawks. He appeared in 56 games in 2003-04, averaging 10.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He missed the entire 2004-05 season after suffering a knee injury in the preseason.</div> Link Meh.
He's 6'9 and 235 lbs. He can score in limited minutes,he averaged a career-high 10 ppg in 2003-04 season playing just 21 minutes per game! I don't know why he didn't play last year,I suppose his contract ended and nobody picked him up. IMO 10 points in 20 minutes is good. His rebounding numers aren't the greatest for his size but in 20 minutes they're ok,seems to be a player who gets into foul trouble too. Playerfile on NBA.com
just another scrub. he's probably just going to take up a roster spot. i hope billy can get someone else like reggie evans.
He isn't bad but he is no where close to being at the Stromile Swift, Donyell Marshall, or Shareef Abdur-Rahim. This would be an emergency pick up for us if we cannot sign Steven Hunter. We don't need Chris Crawford though, we need a more physical player that can get to the boards, not some 235 pound guy that grabs only three boards a game. Billy King, please go after Steven Hunter. He is a seven footer, 23 years young, and was second in the league in blocks per 48 minutes.
wait, we still have the MLE right? if so, we can use it to go after better players than crawford! yay!
I agree that we should try to get Evans or Hunter (Id like to get them both!) Hunter could be getting the same amount of money if he'd get more minutes as Dalembert and Evans would like it here,he's a rebounder who doesn't like to shoot. He could get 5 rebounds by standing on one spot! He had like 3 straight games where he got more than 15 rebounds (20 twice)
Crawford isn't really like terrible but he is nothing I was looking foward to at the same time. He is "ok" I guess, but I doubt this has a big impact on the 76ers team.

He's not that bad, but its just that I don't think he would fit well with the team. I mean, he averaged about ten points in around twenty two minutes, which is fairly decent. However, obviously Crawford isn't starting material for small forward, which is really what we need. I doubt he's going to crack the rotation even if he makes the team.
