    Will be offical tomorrow

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS -- Flip Saunders will be named the new Pistons coach at a news conference Thursday at The Palace, The Detroit News has learned.

Saunders, who replaces Larry Brown, will sign a four-year contract worth between $4 million and $5 million per season, a Pistons source confirmed Wednesday.

Saunders was considered the first choice to replace Brown, who was fired Tuesday.

Saunders, 50, coached the Minnesota Timberwolves for the past 961/27 years before being fired last season. His went 411-326 with the Timberwolves.

Despite Saunders' success during the regular season, his teams got past the first round of the playoffs only once. His playoff record with Minnesota was 17-30.

In his two seasons with the Pistons, Brown won the title in 2004 and led the team to the seventh game of the NBA Finals this season.

i think this will be a tougher season for us then usual...i expect a 45-37ish record. Before we get bak to the type of ball we played this year and last. It will take Flip a minute to get used to the fact the there is no KG on this team. I think this season the players will be coaching him more then him coaching the players. What i mean is they are going to have to show him how there accustumed to playing ball. Defense first.

I agree with Skriptz, Detroit has a completely diffently team than Minni and he coached there so long. So it's going to be interesting what he does with the team, I'm also interested what he's doing with Darko.

On thing so, what does this mean:

Pistons will still win over 50 games next season, It's more of a question is If they will slack off during the season as they did this past year. As they realised they can't do that again and expect to keep winning series without homcourt. So under new coaching I expect the Pistons to play much harder in the regular season. Pistons are still the favourites to make the finals again but to me what decides how Pistons do is what Dumars does to improve the team in free-agency. That will decide alot.

Flip will do a good job no matter what. Dumars needs to improve the bench.

I think it`s really tough for Detroit to see a superb coach leaving after getting a championship, having a nice run in the last 2 seasons, and just seeing him leave.

But I think Flip coming in here to fill Brown`s shoes is a great move and Detroit is still going to have a brilliant run next year and hopefully Dumars brings it what the Pistons need to get another ring.
