<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What do you think of your play so far in the Rocky Mountain Revue?

Salim Stoudamire: I don?t think it was that good. But you know, I?m adjusting. It?s different, but you know, I got time.

Some experts predicted that you might slip to the second round. Was it still a shock when it happened?

SS: I really didn?t care where I went. And I didn?t listen to anybody really, to tell you the truth.

Do you think it?s a blessing in disguise that you are in a situation where you will have the chance to contribute right away?

SS: I think it?s a perfect situation for me. I?ll be able to get playing time right away.

A lot of people have questioned your attitude. Does that bother you?

SS: I don?t care what people think. I?m a grown man. Opinions are like assholes, everybody?s got one.

Who is Salim Stoudamire the person?

SS: Who am I the person?

    Yeah.

SS: I mean, that would take more than a couple minutes to tell you that. (Stoudamire said he only would give a few minutes for the interview).

When you are not on the court, where can people find you?

SS: Uh... Somewhere laying low with a couple of my friends.

I read somewhere that you like to write poetry and rap lyrics. How often do you write, and what do you write about?

SS: Whatever?s on my mind. And whatever I feel the urge to write. It?s never forced.

How do you think the Hawks will do this season?

SS: I think we?ll do better than last year.

Do you think it will be a tough transition going from a shooting guard at Arizona to point guard here with the Hawks?

SS: Nope, because I?ve been playing point all my life.

What do you think about playing with Marvin Williams?

SS: He?s a great player, and I look forward to the future.

Are there any teams you will be excited to play this season?

SS: Every team that didn?t pick me.</div>

bronbron: for a synopsis of what he plays like. coming in, he's one of the top 5 shooters in the L. that should say quite a bit there. he's and underrated defender, a decent passer, good ballhandler, and suprisingly, an AWESOME athlete. he's only 6 feet tall, but he can THROW DOWN!

I told everyone he could play PG, but no one wants to listen to the white guy. He's a steal for Atlanta.

When I saw that stat line and saw my boy Salim go for 39, I coulnd't believe it. I know it's only summer league, but that is an impressive feat. It's great for Hawks fans.

Playing point guard, and playing point guard effective are two different terms. Sure, Salim played some point guard at Arizona, but he was far from effective playing it. He's a project at point guard if you ask me, his passing skills are sub-par, he can't handle the ball well, plus point guards are usually the leader of your team, Salim doesn't fit that mold either. He would be a much better fit if he was the two guard, coming off the bench for Josh Childress.

Iverson don't fit the mold either, but he's a Superstar in the league. How come it's okay for Iverson be an undersized SG, but it's not okay for any one else? It's just not fair to say he don't fit into the league.

I never said Allen Iverson fits the mold of point guard either, quite frankly he is shooting guard rather then a point guard. Although, Iverson is not a point guard, he does fit the mold better then Salim Stoudamire because teammates look up to Allen as being their leader. Salim Stoudamire is one of the reasons Andre Iguodala left Arizona, Salim Stoudamaire almost got kicked off the team this past season, and if that is a leader then I don't know what the NBA is coming to. Salim lacks awareness to be a point guard, he lacks passing ability, he lacks leadership, and he lacks ball handleing skills, all which you need to be an effective point guard in this league. I don't know what else to say other then Salim just isn't a point guard. On the other hand Salim, would make a perfect shooting guard off the bench, he can come in, provide a spark for the Hawks, and maybe drain three or four three pointers in the process.

I hope the best for Salim in his nba career, he seems determined to prove the doubters wrong.
