What I know about each draftee.

    Julius Hogde | SG

Strengths: Hodge is a very good offensive player. Very versatile, he can score, pass, rebound, etc. He's a good ball handler and slasher which opens up his passing abilities. Good courtvision. He is a vocal leader and doesn't back down from anybody. His defense isn't in the upper tier of the other draftees, but it's good enough to count as a strength

Weaknesses: People say he's weak, but he has bulked up since he finished college. Doesn't have good range on his shot and his jumpshot is inconsistent.

    Linas Kleiza | PF

Strengths: Good build for a PF. He can back down his opponent and can also go face up. Good shot selection and is a good passer for a big man. He's good at boxing out and is a solid rebounder. Good defender because of his big frame.

Weaknesses: The biggest concern for Kleiza is that he's undersized for a PF at 6'8-6'9. Though he is a good inside defender, he's not a good defender on the perimeter because he's pretty slow.

I havn't seen Ricky Sanchez play because he was a relatively unknown high schooler. All I can tell you that I've heard about him is that he has lots of potentiol (only 18 years old I think) and is a good rebounder. But he's rail thin weighing only 205 pounds despite being 6'11.

    Hope that helps. [IMG]

Sanchez is accually a poor rebounder at this point, he uses his height instead of his body, but he's pretty agressive or tries to be.

I seen him play, he's from the same High School as Peter John Ramos at Colegio Bautista de Caguas High School, under Leonel Arril, who taught these 7 footers how to play basketball under a time of 4 years.

Colegio Bautista de Caguas High School is like the Oak Hill Academy of Puerto Rico

I made a profile about Ricardo

Ricky is a good finnese player, with incredible range, mobility, and accurate on his shot. He has the ability to beat his opponent on the dribble. HE is NOT a PF, at all, thats an extremely big punishment for him. He's a SG/SF like Turkulo or Peja Ricky lacks agressiveness around the basket, he's a good defensive rebounder, but you rarely see him go for the offensive rebounds. Ricky hustles sometimes, but most of the time he can half ass, like Peter John Ramos did in the Puerto Rican League (BSN)

he's not 6"11 and 190, that was over a year ago,as some people think. Ricky went to USA, and got trained very well, he's now probably over 7 feet 225lbs, before when he was 190, he couldnt play Small foward for nada Now, Ricky is a PG/SG/SF, yes PG, he has good outerrior passing ability. But Ricky is DEFINATELY not a PF, and I don't think he will ever play PF in the NBA, unless he gets brolic like Peter John Ramos (who's 300 lbs now, gained 30 pounds of muscle over the winter in Washington)

He went to the IMG Academy, where guys liek Al Harrington, Billups, Vince Carter, Prince, Telfair, Jeffries, Tryone Lue, Jamaal Tinsley, Chris Bosh developed their skills

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Teenager Ricky Sanchez said thank you to the Nuggets on Tuesday for drafting him. The Nuggets hope to thank him in the future.

Denver drafted Sanchez, a small forward from IMG Academies in Florida, with 35th pick in the NBA draft. The 6-foot-11, 205- pounder averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four blocks as a senior for IMG's Pendleton School in Bradenton, Fla. The Puerto Rico native, who turns 18 on July 6, became the youngest draft pick in Nuggets history and one of the draft's youngest entrants. Denver plans to develop Sanchez in the National Basketball Development League or overseas next season and intends to put him on the summer league team.

"He was really excited," said Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe, who talked to Sanchez by telephone Tuesday. "His words to me - he doesn't speak great English - was, 'Thank you. Thank you. I can't thank you enough."'

The Nuggets became intrigued with Sanchez at the Global Games in Dallas in 2004 when he was just 6-8 and 175 pounds. He was recruited by Florida, Indiana, Texas and Kansas, but wasn't listed in the NBA draft media guide. Vandeweghe watched Sanchez work out in Los Angeles three weeks ago and brought him to Denver for a workout this month.

"I'll tell you now, I don't know what he'll be," Vandeweghe said. "But he's a very skilled guy. Very interesting." </div>

Nobody is mentioning Axel Hervelle, because probably almost nobody knows anything about him. Here my view on Hervelle:

Hervelle is not a typical European youngster. This means he is no Darko Milicic and he will never be Dirk Nowitzki. He isn't 7-foot and he is no shooter, but at the positive side he is not soft at all either. Hervelle is a fighter. Aggressive and very active on both sides of the field. He plays for Real Madrid which is the top in Europe (unlike the teams where many European prospects play(ed)). Hervelle is not extremely skilled, but he is the perfect role player. He runs the floor very well, is a good rebounder and a very good defender with his long arms. A team-oriented player with the right attitude. I'm not sure whether he is a PF or a SF on the NBA level.

Anyway, Hervelle has unfinished business at Madrid where he did not even play a complete season yet. Next year he would like to step up even more in Europe. That is also the reason why he did not participate on the summerleague squad. Hervelle will only make the step to the NBA if he feels to be ready to contibute. If he doesn't make it to the NBA, any strong team in Europe would like to have him because Hervelle is a typical player that adds fighting spirit to winning teams. Maybe not talented enough to make it to the NBA, but if he is...you can only like him.
