Today I read an article about the Drew Gooden trade rummors and I found out that the Dallas Mavericks are in the runnning for power foward Drew Gooden. The deal would include one of Dallas' young point guards which means you may see Jason Terry or Devin Harris in a Cavs uniform next year.

Didn`t see/hear anything about this. I know Cleveland is in search of a decent PG and I think Terry would fill that gap very well. I wouldn`t be suprised if this trade went down, Dallas was very pleased with what they had in Harris and they played him in the starting lineup almost as many times as Jet did.

As for Gooden coming to Dallas, doesn`t he dislike coming off the bench? I don`t know how that would pan out with Dirk at PF and...Gooden at SF? Josh Howard has been one of the best SF`s the Mavs have ever had. Having Gooden come off the bench would have us keep our great depth and he would be a superb 6th man IMO.

Maybe they will start Gooden at center over the abundantly talented Eric Dampier.

I hope your being sarcastic. Gooden would be killed at Center in the west.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Meanwhile, the 6-9 Marshall could be a bench player, like he has been the last few years, or the Cavaliers' starting power forward. His addition has fueled speculation that the Cavaliers would trade starter Drew Gooden.

One source said Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry has initiated trade talks about Gooden with the Mavericks. Dallas does have two starting-quality point guards on its roster -- Jason Terry and Devin Harris.

Ferry has supposedly spoken to three other Western Conference teams about the 6-10, 242-pounder.

If Gooden is retained, finding minutes for him, Marshall and 6-10 Anderson Varejao might be difficult for coach Mike Brown.

Gooden has just one year left on his contract, and his agent is undoubtedly already thinking about a lucrative extension. Giving Gooden away makes no sense, especially when he might be a better overall player than Marshall.

I would take Harris over Terry any day of the week.

"Gooden might have become expendable with the signing of Marshall, who can start at power forward. Gooden is coming off a career season but is more of a scorer and rebounder than team defender. The Cavaliers have focused on improving their defense." Akron Beacon Journal

"The Drew Gooden trade rumors have begun three months into the NBA off-season. Gooden has been in the league for only three years, but he has already played for four different teams. Number five could be on the horizon. "Me being part of a trade rumor comes with the territory," Gooden said. "That's the way it has been for me every year. But I'm to the point where I don't worry about [a trade] anymore. I just know wherever I'm playing, I'm going to play hard and do whatever I have to do, and I want to do that in Cleveland." Cleveland Plain Dealer

"I haven't been thinking about trades," Gooden said. "I've been thinking about Donyell becoming a great outside threat for us and the great transition game we'll have with LeBron and Hughes. There's no reason why Hughes and LeBron shouldn't be 1-2 in steals in the league. Z returning is big for us because you don't want to play against him." Cleveland Plain Dealer</div>

This team would be sick in the catagory of steals if this trade went through.

Terry's definitely not a pass first point guard.. But, I saw so much improvement in that area of his game last year.. Probably the first time that he's had to pass as much as he did.. He was depended on to score before he got to Dallas.. As for Harris, of course I'd take him over Terry.. But, I am absolutely sure Dallas won't give him up for Gooden..

Yeah.. Terry would be a good fit.. Forget his l'il f'up of letting Nash drain that 3 at the end of regulation, dude showed the most balls on his team during the Suns series.. He played huge in that series.. Stepped it up big time with his scoring.. And though his playmaking could be better, I think it's fine as it is right now because LeBron and Hughes can both handle the rock as well.. Plus, he's still got room to grow..
