Lakers might lose Turiaf's rights if he doesn't make his physical. How much of this is true? Seems like a big concern for the Lakers. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One factor is the health of second-round pick Ronny Turiaf, who was held out of half the summer-league season because of complications with his physical. It is possible the contract Turiaf signed a week ago will be invalidated and the Lakers will lose another big man.</div> Source: http://www.ocregister.com/ocr/2005/07/21/s...icle_605091.php slashdot/slashdot
wait, so if he doesnt pass his physical, he's a free agent? wft?! if it were true, that would suck really really really bad for the lakers.
i read that article this morning but the rest of the article did not shed any light on the physical-for now what you see is what you get-i hope it is nothing serious-it may have something to do with his ankles-he badly sprained both of them last year with Gonzaga-hes a player

I dont think he becomes a free agent. He just doesn't end up on the final roster and his contract will be void. Im pretty sure his contract stipulates something about his health in there before he signed it...

thats messed up-he is a good dude/player-i thought he was going to have more of an impact than bynum this year-he was going to replace brian grant-they wont know how much time he will be out until they do the surgery-my heart (no pun intended) goes out to him
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lakerman34:</div><div class="quote_post">so is he gonna miss a few games w/ the lakers?</div>The article says his entire career is in jeopardy.
Man, that blows.. At least the organization is classy enough to want to pay for his medical expenses.. Open heart surgery can't be cheap.. Sure they'll have his rights if they pay for the bills, but there's really no guarantee that he'll be able to return to the NBA.. Oh well, best of luck to dude..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ilive4ball:</div><div class="quote_post">GOD D*MN IT. The lakers really can' t get a break.</div> Sure.. But this really isn't about the Lakers.. Dude's health's more important than whether he'd be able to contribute as a PF..
well, what ever happens, i wish ronny the best. he has to do what is good for his life, not the team. if that means not playing ball, i'll be upset, but yeah, i'll understand. but without ronny, all i can say is it will most likely be lottery time. my question is, if we get in the lottery, do we get our pick back from boston?
Whoa, there phiLA. Just because Ronny's out doesn't mean lottery time next year. He's still as of this moment another unproven rookie, just as Bogut is.

ronny better get his butt off the surgery table and play for us. i cant believe we just waisted a pick. this guy can die for all i care, but think about this franchise! i was expecting something big out of this guy, and now this!!! he better play or i'll be pissed!!
