I was thinking to myself at work 2day. What will the Heat do when Shaq retires? Wade will by then be an even bigger superstar but where does that leave the team? Do you see Miami ever regaining where they wer this year after the big arostotle is gone? I hope they land a futue big man to go along with Wade so we can get that elusive NBA Champoinship. hat are you guys' predictions?

Here is how I see our future. When Shaq retires, Dwyane Wade will be a perenial All-Star and will be one of better players in the league. Wayne Simien and Udonis Haslem are fortunate enough to play with two extremely talented centers in Shaquille O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning. I think those two will teach Haslem and Simien a lot and will bring their game to a higher level. I think Simien is going to be a great player and will be able to switch to the center position. Sure we won't have the same pressence in the paint as we did when Shaq was here but I think Simien is a good player and will be a long term answer for our center position. Eddie Jones will probably be older too so I expect us to draft or sign a young small forward who would be able to fit into our system. I think the Heat have the players to be a great team for many years but they just have to play their cards right and surround Wade with talent that will be able to make him better.

Well after Shaq, Wade will be a superstar type player, but in addition to the, the Heat could also have a very good player in Dorell Wright, and Haslem and Wayne Simien can also be pretty good.

With Shaq leaving, the Heat also get a lot of cap space because Eddie Jones' contract will also be coming off the books soon, and they will be big players in the market that year. I'm not sure who's going to be around then, but they have the chance to have a very good team still.

Do you see them ever getting a title after Shaq is gone?

A LOT of things will change. Wade will be a superstar, one of the best players in the league, and we might have another all-star in Dorrell Wright. We'll also have Simien(if he's resigned) and Haslem upfront which will form a strong front court. Another huge trade could happen with the Heat, potentially trading Wright if things don't work out. Cap space will be created, rookies will be draft, FA's will be signed. Many, many things will happen.

    1) There is no question in the title, otherwise there would be a question mark. 2) If you read my comments there's a reason on why I didn't answer the questions because things can change just like that and many unpredictable things can happen over that time span. Thus, there's no point in predicting things for 5 years down the road.

LMAO come on my friends. Let's not worry about "what in 3 years later(or farther)"
Let's focus on today and this season. We still have a great chance and the Heat is assembling another great team for us to enjoy "today". GO HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't Simien a little undersized to play center?

Well lately there hasn't been much to talk about so I don't see anything wrong with discussing our future.

The only reason Ben can play center is because of his great leaping ability and awesome defense. Simien isn't and amazing defensive player and isn't a great leaper. hes undersized for PF and people are thinking he can play center.

They got 3 spots of their future starting lineup set if Dorrell Wright pans out. Maybe 4 if they sign Watson and he's still effective at 30 or 31 years old.

    PG - ?? (Maybe Watson? He's only 26)
    SG - Dwyane Wade
    SF - Dorrell Wright
    PF - Udonic Haslem
    C - ??
