Gooden has been in the league for only three years, but he has already played for four different teams. Number five could be on the horizon. I just know wherever I'm playing, I'm going to play hard and do whatever I have to do, and I want to do that in Cleveland." "I haven't been thinking about trades," Gooden said. "I've been thinking about Donyell becoming a great outside threat for us and the great transition game we'll have with LeBron and Hughes. There's no reason why Hughes and LeBron shouldn't be 1-2 in steals in the league. Z returning is big for us because you don't want to play against him."</div> Cleveland Plain Dealer
so, gooden for jason terry or devin harris?? i guess i would do the trade if the cavs want terry, but if they want devin harris, then i would say no.
I would do that trade in an instant for either of them, i love jason terry, and I think harris is going to improve a lot over the years, not to mention he's already starting quality imo.
This would definitely make sense for both teams. Cavs are in a true need of a point guard, where the Mavericks have a log game there (with Terry, Daniels, Harris). And the Mavs have been in need of a true guy that can hit the boards for the longest time. If the Mavs trade Harris they will be giving up too much though, he still is young and has too much potential at this point. Terry is just about the right price though, good deal for both teams.
Dallas should not give up Devin Harris for Drew Gooden at this point. Jason Terry is even giving up abit too much, but if I was Dallas I would consider Terry for Gooden. They have Harris who will be just as good as Terry this season, and Daniels who can play 2 and 1.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting j0se:</div><div class="quote_post">Dallas has no direction.</div> How is it that Dallas has no direction, when it's Danny Ferry who is initiating the trade talks. We have Dirk and back up Van Horn, whose Gooden going to back up. Trade Declined.

How does this make any sense? The Mavs are solid at the PG spot with Terry and Harris and at the PF spot with Dirk and Keith Van Horn. What posistion do they plan on using Gooden as if they acquire him? Center? The Mavs are solid at the PG spot, why mess with it? Terry might leave in the off-season, and if Harris is traded, then that leaves the G Marquis Daniels as the PG. On top of that, Gooden might leave as well. The worse case scenerio, which is very possible, is that Gooden is traded for Harris and leaves in the off-season, along with KVH and Terry. Harris has a very promising career in the NBA and I wouldn't let him go for Gooden. If Terry is traded, that would force Harris to start at PG right away. Who knows how long the adjustment time will take. He's not as developed as a player as Terry so they really need both of them together rather than acquiring Gooden to go with KVH and Dirk. As bad as the Cavs need a banger inside to score and rebound, keeping their PG's is more important.
This is a sticky situation. The way I see it is that Dallas will stay away from Gooden, as much as I would like to see Terry or Harris in CLE I don't think it's going to happen. If you were Mark Cuban or Avery Johnson would you want Gooden on the team? I wouldn't I think Damp and Dirk can rebound pretty solid so why bring Gooden to the team.
Stupid Stupid Stupid............... Dallas will never win a championship for one reason, they can't keep they're team together for more than one year. When Dirk couldn't hit the side of the barn in the playoffs, it was Jason Terry that bailed him out. A couple of years before that, Nick Van Exel did the same thing for Dallas and they traded him the upcoming season. Why would you trade somebody that saved you're team? If it's true they're going to trade Terry, then it's the typical idiotic move Dallas would do.
Won't happen. Mavs need Terry and Harris this year. Van Horn, Dirk and Terry and Harris are all outside threats with Daniels. Howard can score from everywhere. Unless Gooden is one of the best at transition defense Dallas should take a pass.
