^ Agreed. Alot of people are still stuck on NEEDING a 7 footer in the 5 spot but the game has changed. A Bosh/CV frontcourt should be able to handle itself well enough of defense given the players speed, length and the fact that 2/3rds of the teams in the league lack a scoring center thats bigger than them. Offensively i think they can really kick it, its gunna be a quick fun team with alot of grit i think. A successful season for me? CV, Graham, Ukic all getting good minutes and producing. Hoffa coming out of his shell and playing like i know he can. Alvin leading the troops, helping the young PG's develop and pushing everyone to give 100%. Graham bench pressing Sweetney during half-time. And I'm kinda hoping Calderon is something special. Even though i want Alston to succeed cause i like his heart, I think Ukic and Calderon could be very dynamic and much needed for us. Besides, a productive Alston is our best piece of trade bait.
I'd just like to see the young guys develop well and for the Raptors to win more than 33 games. If it's 34 or 44, I don't care, as long as the Raps make an improvement. We made an improvement from 24 to 33 wins in 03-04, and I think we made progress last year because we still won the same amount of games mostly without VC. A successful season IMO would be for all the young guys to develop well and to win 38-40 games. It's obvious Toronto won't make the playoffs, but I'd to see them win more than 33.

It's not the height, it's the strength and ability to guard the 5 spot that many are concerned about. Even Araujo himself is only 6'11. I don't see Bosh or Villa being able to guard most centers. People keep saying their only a handful of good centers, but have they forgotten how every center became an All-Star when playing us the last 2 years.
He was, or still is in Toronto to negotiate a deal with the Raptors. He wouldn't go back to Spain because Ukic just took his spot.
Since Ukic is gone from the Raptors... it's obvious Calderon will be playing for us. At least we had a backup plan for Ukic, just imagine if we didn't have a backup plan, we'd be stuck with Cook at backup.
Yeah, if we can't sign Calderon, I think we will have to sign the Immortal Milt Palacio to a brand new max contract.
Juan Dixon just sign with the Trail Blazers on a three-years deal worth around $8 million... The raptors could offer him the same offer, i'm worng? Dixon is our tape of starting PG, great scorer with alot of talent... could play the SG position also...

He isn't really a pg, more of a scorer, as his stats are 8 ppg, and 1.8 apg. We need a SG, and Dixon would have filled the gap decently. But by no means would it fill the real need for a true second option in our offense after Bosh that effectively creates his own shot. Jalen sort of is that option, but sometimes when we use him our offense seems to go stagnent.
Dixon is not a starting caliber player, he's a backup. We need a SG, but not a 6'3, 180lbs SG who can't guard SG's in the first place, and is extremely inconsitent.

Right now we have SF, PF well covered and possibly PG. PG: Ukic, Rafer, & Caldren SF: Graham PF: Bosh, CV3
