Alvin williams, the longest serving raptor. Seemed like yesterday when Ex-GM Grunwald acquired him in a trade from Portland. Seemed like yesterday, Grunwald tried to trade him on two different occasions, but for one reason or the other, the trade never went through, cuz of physical test failures. Where would the raptors be without this guy. I remembered running into him at the square one shopping centre a couple of years ago, and what an amazing human being. He was as excited to meet people and talk with them as much as people were excited to talk with him. He's truly the classiest player to ever put on the raptors' uniform. Without a doubt, VC built the raptors, and put the raptors on the map, but Alvin laid the foundation. A house cannot be built without a foundation. Alvin was a true warrior. A true warrior never backs down in the middle of the war (season) and cry to the rest of the soldiers that he cant fight nomore, a true warrior never runs out of armo, a true warrior never stops fighting, a true warrior will keep fighting until he cant fight nomore, a true warrior will still fight when one knee is taken out, a true warrior will still fight when both knees are taken out. A true warrior will not leave the battle scene until he is forced out. These are traits that define Alvin Williams. Antonio Davis was once called a warrior, but Without a doubt, he wasnt in the same league as Alvin Williams, the true warrior.
Amen... Amen... The dude is trying his best after a huge knee injury, which is almost impossible to make a recovery from. When there is no cartiledge in your knee cap you know its' something bad. This guy has been with us through thick and thin, highs and lows. He is (I think) the last Raptor from the start of our VC era and is still with us. Mind you, he doesn't have much trade value, but he is still here and hungry to come back.
I remember reading an article in the newspaper when he stated that he loved the game so much that he would risk his future health, even not being able to walk when he was older just to be able to play the game. This guy is the definition of a classs act. He bleeds purple. Even though he hasn't been able to play for the last couple of years, I'm glad he got that contract. He is one guy that earns his money, either if he plays or not.

This guy has gone through too much. *Sniffle*, someday Alvin will bleed red among the rest of the Raptor roster!
I also give big props to Lenny Wilkens who gave Alvin the chance he needed after Thomas' misuse of him.
I love the Sig Blue Bayou, It reminds me of Alvin's commitment, I just can't get mad at a guy like Alvin. Mr. Wade your sig cracks me up everytime, Its awesome.
