don't trade away youth or let them escape, keep them no matter what, eventually the other teams will hav to replace their players and during that time you can compete if you have players who are now young but will then be in their primes, all you need are 2 playoff seasons (which definately will come if you maintain the youth and other teams gfet older) and you'll attract free agents and stay permanently in the hunt. i just felt i had to say this. but if childress, smith, williams and whoever else you have get away that's just bad, they should play 2 3 and 4 to keep them all happy, because you need to keep all 3 down the road
And the Hawks r lookin to sign Joe Johnson. This is a team starting to sound like the Clippers, loaded but not playoff bound. Although I do want to see the Hawks get a round or two in the playoffs. Josh S. and C. espeically need that playoff experience.
^ we are definately not loaded. we got no PG and no C. if we got JJ and curry though, the we'd be a lock for a playoff spot.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lessthanjake:</div><div class="quote_post">^ we are definately not loaded. we got no PG and no C. if we got JJ and curry though, the we'd be a lock for a playoff spot.</div> PG: Salim Stoudemire SG: Joe Johnson/Josh Childress SF: Marvin Williams/Josh Smith PF: Josh Smith? C: Eddy Curry
C: Eddy Curry PF: Marvin Williams SF: Josh Smith SG: Josh Childress PG: Joe Johnson Marvin Williams is better fit to play the 4 more so than Josh. I'd rather see JJ play the point, as he could prob. get the team more involved than Salim can. With good perimeter defenders in Diaw and Ivey off the bench, this team can be a fairly solid one coming into next season. All this team needs is depth in the frontcourt, and the PG position, and they'd be guaranteed playoff bound.
Josh Smith has bulked up this off-season. I see him being the main PF, but I think they will switch at times depending on matchups and who they are facing.
