With all the FA's and trades going on, it seems as if the west is getting weaker and the rockets are getting stronger.......I mean JJ might not go back to Phoenix, Daniels has left Seattle,Dallas might lose Finley......I would just like to see everyone's prediction on the top 8 teams next year in the west 1. Spurs 2. Rockets (yes I'm optimistic) 3. Suns 4. Mavericks 5. Seattle 6. Denver 7. T Wolves 8. ???????
1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. T-Wolves (Top 3 are division Leaders) 4. Rockets 5. Dallas 6. Sonics 7. Nuggets 8. Lakers
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Egyptian:</div><div class="quote_post">1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. T-Wolves (Top 3 are division Leaders) 4. Rockets 5. Dallas 6. Sonics 7. Nuggets 8. I'm hoping/thinking McCants will have a year like D-Wade as a rookie or something.... Leave me alone lol

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nuggets lol... and i have a feeling the suns wont be as good either idk why though</div> Maybe because they lost Quentin Richardson and are close to losing Joe Johnson? Anyway, this is still to early for this sort of thing but here mine goes- 1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. Sonics 4. Rockets 5. Mavericks 6. Nuggets 7. Kings 8. Warriors
Sonics are losing there players fast. I only expect them in the last 3 positions in the west. Rockets will be 4 or 5. It will obviously be a battle between Mavs and Rox. These two teams will develop one hell of a rivalry over the next few years. Well, the Texas Triangle has always had rivalries, but this will be highlighted.
1. Spurs 2. Nuggets 3. Suns (top in each division) 4. Rockets 5. Nuggets 6. Warriors 7. Mavericks 8. Lakers For some reason I dont see the Mavs doing that well next season, losing Finley and relying on Dirk for leadership isnt going to be for the better IMO.
If the Rockets werent in the same division as the Spurs then Id be confident they'll be a top seed. But theyre in the same division...so heres what my rundown looks like ASSUMING the Suns dont resign Johnson or replace him with Finley. 1.Spurs 2.Nuggets 3.Kings 4.Rockets 5.Mavs 6.Suns 7.Warriors 8.Seattle This is subject to change before the start of the season of course.
Some of you are really pessimistic i eman by those predictions it indicates that we haven't really improved at all. I think the Rockets have a real shot and with the youngsters this team will have much more energy.
How can they get any higher than 4? The Spurs are in their division, and the division winners get a top 3 seed. If you think that the Rockets will have a better record than the Spurs next year, then hey, it's your opinion I guess.
Spurs Suns Rockets Mavs Denver Golden State Lakers Sacremento Can't really say until the offseason is over, at this pace there will be some BIG trades that change the whole balance of the West.

That means Spurs and Rockets both can't be in the top three. Dakeem, Sonics still are retaining players that are crucial to their team. I mean, Jerome James wasn't too much of a loss considering he wasn't doing much in the season and Antonio Daniels is declining and is getting old. At this point, they're probably going to keep Flip Murray and Reggie Evans, two young guys who should be improving from last year and should have no problem filling in for Daniels and James. But, I'm no Sonics expert so thats just my opinion.

West Conference Standing Prediction 1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. Rockets 4. Lakers 5. SuperSonics 6. Mavs 7. Kings 8. Warriors i'm pretty sure this isn't accurate at all......
There is no way the Rockets can be third. The top 3 spots are for the 3 division winners and if the Spurs are in the top 3, the best we can be is fourth seed in the West. I think it'll look something like this: 1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. Nuggets 4. Rockets 5. Mavericks 6. Kings 7. Supersonics 8. Warriors/Grizzlies This will set up another first round with Houston and Dallas. I think we will take it in 6 but then lose in 5 to the Spurs in the second round.
There was already a similar thread made about this done earlier in the summer so I just merged the two. Anyways, I'm going to be sticking with my list except for maybe swapping Denver with Seattle. Overall, the Nuggest have got a better team with a bit more depth and more quality starters. And with even more time to work with Karl, I think Denver will be a team to be reckoned with.
